I think it's a little late for petitioning....We've already tried petitioning before the bulldozers moved in.

Thats not necessarily true. If the FAA or AOPA finds some loophole or law that the city has broken, they could be forced to pay for the repairs and reopening of Meigs. I didnt see a pic until a few minutes ago on the net, and its one of the sickest things Ive ever seen. I signed the petition and emailed Mayor Daley, or his secretary or whoever reads his "junk" mail. Since Im not a resident of Illinois or Chicago my voice doesnt mean a whole lot, but I let the mayor know in my email that I have many friends there and I will make sure that each and every one votes a dead rotting carcas into office before they cast a vote for him. I cant believe that he actually thought that he would get away with doing it in the middle of the night and brushing it off on homeland security. I hope the AOPA makes a commercial on this whole fiasco and broadcasts it all over Chicago so the non-flying people can understand what he really did to the city.Craig
