December 30, 200817 yr Hi all,I'm flying the luscious new Citation X 2.0 and loving life. I find that the FMS depends on a good flight plan. I am also using PFE which can use SID/STAR if I know how to program it in. I don't know how to do that however.I can't seem to find the needed charts for departures (DP). I can find approach charts but the DPs don't seem to be available. How do you plan the departure properly so PFE doesn't say "Fly runway heading" each time? I checked AirNav, Chartfinder, etc. but can't figure this out. How do you guys plan your flights? I have FSNav and it can do some magic with STARs but again, I don't know how to use it properly.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Dolph

DolphYou can find the charts here: http://www.myairplane.com John Morgan "There is a feeling about an airport that no other piece of ground can have. No matter what the name of the country on whose land it lies, an airport is a place you can see and touch that leads to a reality that can only be thought and felt." - The Bridge Across Forever: A Love Story by Richard Bach
December 31, 200817 yr For US controlled airports Flightaware.com free charts enter the airport ICAO in the bottom left box and click airport information. Click terminal procedures on the airport page. Download the bundled .pdf file which will open up in Acrobat. Save the file and while open browse it. You can print the pages you need or the whole bundle if you wish. I look at each page since the entire bundle includes a few pages I am not interested in. I choose hard copy so I print one or sequential selected pages as needed. These are r/w FAA published current charts and may differ from some scenery elements in FS but they generally work for me.Fly runway heading is a typical initial direction unless tower needs to turn you before you are told to contact approach. Banking is discouraged until aircraft speed picks up until at least one thousand feet or so AGL. Turning slows climb rate a bit and increases stall speed. PFE may do things differently.
