I've been looking at upgrading my computer to get a few extra frames. i'm running fs2004 on max settings at around 9-15 fps =/ here are my specs:AMD sempron 1.8 ghz processor830mb ram250gb hard discATI radeon 200 Xpress seriesi'm looking at buying either something like a 8800 gtx video card or upgrading to a 2.2 gigahertz processor. i'm only looking at a 2.2 ghz processor because i'm limited by my motherboard (asus A8AE-LE)any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,I had a similar issue earlier this year. I bit the bullet and bought a new machine. Not the best but what I could afford. Went from your frame rates to over 30 all the time maxed out. Could have upgraded mem and processor etc but my bro tried with not as much success. My advice, by a new machine. They are cheap enough nowadays.regardsJonsterEngland

You might post this on the Hardware Forum. However, I agree with Jonster. You would be a lot better off investing in a new machine. I bought a Gateway GT5676 for about $600 at Best Buy and added a decent video card so I was into it less than $800. FS9 runs very well (locked at 30fps) and it will run FSX also but not as well (12+20fps). I am afraid you would be sinking good money after bad trying to upgrade your current computer as there are so many variables regarding the motherboard, ram etc. Hope that helps some,Bill

thanks for your reply. unfortunately jobless 17 year olds dont have much of a choice but to go the cheapest way...well depending on who your parents are i guess lol. i'm bugging my mom about finally buying a new computer..we've gotten our money out of this old one..but i had nothing else to do with the money really so i went ahead and bought the processor just to see what it would do. it brought my frames up by a few but like you both said not by much.thanks for your help.Evan
