February 14, 200917 yr I now have a NVIDIA 7950GT 512M AGP and I see that on the paper the ATI 3850 AGP is a better card. But I have also heard that ATI is bad about rendering clouds. How can a videocard be bad for such a specific task as cloudrendering. I also experience problems with nvidia graphics driver both in FSX and other games like COH. Could a ATI driver be better than the NVIDIA cards? If I would try a 3850 which driver would be best to use? I use the 181.22 NVIDIA driver? Because of my rather old system stated below FS9 is my main simulator but I do have FSX SP1+UTX USA+GEX+FSGenesis mesh+ some addonplanes installed and use them occasionally.AMD 64 4000+ OC 2.6 GHz2 Gb PC3200 RAMNVIDIA 7950GT AGP 512M DDR3WD Raptor 150 Gb SATAI 10000 rpmWin XP HomeTFT Samsung SyncMaster 940B 19" 1280*1024
February 14, 200917 yr I can't think that it is cost-effective to upgrade ( not sure the ati would be an upgrade in your case) the gpu on your system, unless your 7950 fails. Is your MB too old for a dual cpu?Bob Bob i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.
