Blurry aircraft textures

Featured Replies

I've noticed on some of my aircraft that part of the textures sometimes are blurry and then other times not. Usually only happens on one side but not the other. My Braniff 747 left side front logo blurs out but the rear and the entire right side is fine. Couple of my AI Airbusses do this sometime also. Is this to do with the video card or the textures used? any fix? Thanks

Are your textures DXT3 or BMP? If DXT3, then I know its texture dependable, some do that, some don't. I found out that a solution is to convert them to bmp.

This is common with textures that contain mipmaps, which are basically multiple copies of the same texture sheet at various resolutions. The sim will use these to display lower resolutions on planes that are at a distance, great for AI, not so much for user aircraft.Go to this website - http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/ and download DXTBmp.You can open your textures with this program and then save them without mipmaps. This will usually eliminate the blurry textures.Hope this helps.Joe
