Amazing footage Buzz, which goes to show how gruelling this race can be. There wouldn't be many simmers going out in weather like that, but it's typical of what RTW racers have to endure. It's not pretty flying. It's dangerous flying which is sometimes unavoidable. Thanks for showing everyone how bad it can sometimes get for us.

Yup, it was a good flight.. I had the baton for that flight and all was good but the landing was a bit tricky. The 1st picture shows it live at landing. The 2nd was a replay but the weather changed between the landing and replay so the visibility looks better during the replay then it really was. All in all it was a good flight but a hairy landing. :)After 4-5 years of doing the RTW race it never ceases to amaze me the conditions we encounter. The 9500 foot restriction we had a couple years ago was a pain for those approaches..
