XP message: Failed to read from file.

Recommended Posts

Hi.I am having some problems here. When I try to run FSX (SP1 and 2) I keep getting the ''Failed to read from file'' message (A windowsmessage) and a CTD sometimes after 10 minutes flight, and sometimes right at loading a flight. What could be the possible cause?Tried with the latest nvidia driver for my 8800GTS. That made the problem worse ( I think)Any help welcome.KindlyJakob Arnholtz

For what it's worth, I encountered this very problem on loading of FSX yesterday. I found it to be due to a corrupted bgl file for an AI aircraft that I'd just installed.Robert

Fail to read from file error is usually connected with corrupted data on HDD. Please do a CheckDisk. I assume it is a NTFS partition (old FATs are prone to corruption). Also, write down crucial information from BSOD, it will helps a lot :)

And forgive me, but what is BSOD
It stands for Blue Screen of Death. Please let us know when defrag will be finished
