Autopilot and .cfg edit question

Featured Replies

Hello All:Getting back into this FSX thing now that I built a machine that can handle this beast respectably. It's been a few years since I've been here. My question is that I don't remember what to add or change in the .cfg file to have the autopilot in the Baron (or any other aircraft) only control your altitude but still be able to turn at will without disengaging the autopilot. Any help would be much appreciated.

I dont fly the defaults often, but just happened to fly the 208 yesterday. It has the Bendix-King radio stack and AP and you can select ALT only on the AP. I'm pretty sure all the default aircraft have that option, but no clue about addons, that would depend on what AP's are installed.

Try adding these two lines to the autopilot section of the aircraft.cfg file.use_no_default_pitch=1use_no_default_bank=1

I find that when I engage the default Baron autopilot, the aircraft cannot be turned, but follow with engage and then disengage the heading hold and the aircraft can be turned manually.

Thanks tjrush. After a little bit more internet searching I found those lines to add to the .cfg file.
