Connecting PC's

Featured Replies

I have a question that a fellow Avsim reader may be able to offer some help. I have a friend (who is a licensed A&P machanic) who is interested in learning how to fly. I have offered to help out using FS2004. My question is, is there a program we can use that will allow me to connect to his computer and see what he sees on screen? I know how to connect PC's where we are each in a seperate aircraft flying around, however I dont know a way to connect to the same aircraft.Any help appreciated-GoldWings-

i believe that only works with FSX

If you want to share the same aircraft (i.e one of you in the left seat and the other in the right with both of you able to control it), then you'll be needing to use FSX.However, if you wanted to have one of you flying in FS9 whilst the other observes, and you both chat on headsets, then any remote desktop sharing application should be able to do it, although you might need to have FS9 running in 'windowed' mode. A free programme that would let you do that is skype (www.skype.com) which has screen sharing capability, although there are many others which will also work.FSX is much the simpler option, since the ability is built in, but with a little ingenuity, you could coach someone with FS9.Al
