RC V5 Callsigns
You are correct about Airborne. Their callsign is, indeed, ABEX. My apolgies. As far as CAAC, just disregard. Theres very little information on it, and I think I already have it set to the air china callsign or something like that. I can assure you it will be exciting to hear radio chatter as it was in the 1980's. Got another question for you. Will Emery Worldwide be on the list??

Radar Contact feature idea
Heres an idea I thought I would shoot to the development team. Would it be possible to create a callsign maker? I imagine it could work like this:1. Have the voice actors record all the phonetic sounds and letters (such as long a and short a, etc)2. Assemble a program where we can assemble all the neccessary sounds to create our callsign.3. Have the program fuse the sounds together to create and install the new callsign to the proper folder4. Run Radar Contact and enjoy them!I dont know how hard it would be to do this, but I know you can do this now with editvoicepack.Just an idea! :( -GoldWings-

Skysimulations Douglas DC9
I don't own this aircraft (yet!) because I'm waiting for the FS9 version. However, I will make a comment or 2 on what I do see.DC-9-51:First, the comparator (the row of yellow lights above the airspeed indicator). The -51 NEVER had this version of the comparator. It only came with the bowtie version (from the factory) that you see in almost all of todays DC-9's. This version only came equipped on early dc-9's in the 60's and early 70's. Second, the RAT/EPR indicator. All the DC-9's came with the scale EXCEPT the -51. The -51 always had the pushbutton type you find on MD-80's. Third, the engine sync switches. Just like the MD-80, the DC-9-51 had engine sync switches on the overhead panel, which I am betting SkySim did not model at all. If any of you are going to forward a list of bugs to SkySim, can you please include these for consideration in a future update? Also, I recall someone said something about the APU doesn't shut down when its turned off. The reason for that is because when you turn the switch to off, there is a 60 second delay from the moment to hit the switch before it spools down (I forgot why). Hope this clears things up. -GoldWings-

Update for HJG
Hey Mike,Just thought I'd throw the question out there, but do you suppose HJG can make an arrangement to also host the Lockheed L-1011 tristar? As far as I know, since Vistaliners went down I dont know of any other place to download it.-GoldWings-

Update for HJG
Hi Mike,I just want to make mention these 727's are the VISTALINERS 727s!!! There were some people worrying that Vistaliners are gone (well, for the most part they are) but these 727 are THE Vistaliners models. One thing that surprised me was that they released the SUPER 727. I had gotten it years ago from the insiders, but never thought it would be realeased to the public. So, consider it a surprise gift! :( -GoldWings-

Connecting PC's
I have a question that a fellow Avsim reader may be able to offer some help. I have a friend (who is a licensed A&P machanic) who is interested in learning how to fly. I have offered to help out using FS2004. My question is, is there a program we can use that will allow me to connect to his computer and see what he sees on screen? I know how to connect PC's where we are each in a seperate aircraft flying around, however I dont know a way to connect to the same aircraft.Any help appreciated-GoldWings-

Anyone Know ?
Dear Opa,Someone else asked this same question a few weeks ago on another site, which you can read about on the flightsimworld.com threadHeres what I understand. The founder of Virtual Eastern Airlines (Perrin Arno) has more or less lost interest in the Virtual Airline, and has since committed all his time to Star Wars Galaxies. Thats why there really wasn't much activity since 2006. However, I've been told that the site was suspended because there is a bad script somewhere causing spam to come from the domain. According to "Aharon" (which you can read from the link above), a fellow manager from the site (Peter Liddell) has said he will be working to reopen the VA, as well as reopen Vistaliners. You know, you can still download most of the vistaliners models right today from avsim.com flightsim.com simviation.com and a few others I've forgotten. The only ones I can think of that you cant download are the L-1011 Tristar and the B727-100 (And the Super 727). Hope this cleared up confusion.-GoldWings-

tdragger,Since there haven't been any screenshots at night, can you comment on any "significant" changes / upgrades to the night environment in FSX? -GoldWings-

Landing Light 'Triangle' in FSX?
tdragger, Is it possible for third-party developers to add light sources (or is it hard coded)? One of the things I wanted to see was gate lights at night that would cause aircraft shadows on tarmac and itself / reflections on fuselage from gate light, jetway shadows, and other objects to react like the sun would normally do in the day. I'm willing to bet that this would be a framerate hogger if it's implemented, or maybe possible with DX10. And of course, I am still hoping that the night water would appear black and reflect city lights like it does the sun and moon, but since there arent any screenshots yet, I'll just keep my fingers crossed!I really admire what you have done so far with the sim, and wish to extend a big thank you to the entire FSX developer team for all the hard work! -GoldWings-

AI traffic problem
I have been using TTools for a while now, and have had success with implementing good AI traffic into FS2004. Yesterday, I decided I wanted to add a new airline to my flight plans :-) After I did that, I decided to try it out. Now, only 1 airline shows up in FS2004. I decompiled the traffic.bgl, all other airlines are still there, all their flight plans are still there, including the new one. I have tried everything I know how, but every attempt would result in only 1 airline showing up in FS2004 (or, if I removed it, NO airlines at all). :-(I have completely run dry of ideas. Any help would be appreciated. -GoldWings-
