Hi, In FSX can you export from 3DS Max direct to mdl..?Without having to take x file export and then input x file in MakeMdl..?I thought 3DS Max had this direct export function..?Thanks,tc

No, you cannot. For FS9, you need to use something like PandaSoft's X file plugin, then compile the .x file with MakeMDL.exeFor FSX, you need to use the FSModelExp.dle from the FSX SDK, then compile the .x file with XtoMDL.exe

Hey oMDL is also used as the extension to a number of other game sdk's Quake springs to mind. i noticed that there is a MSFlightsim MDL option in my export menu but have no idea what its for, never used it.I use PandaSoft's X file plugin for FS9 workes a treat once u have it set up Paul

Pilots track their lives by the number of hours in the air, as if any other kind of time isn't worth noting.

 

 

If I read the SDK correctly, exporting directly to mdl was going to be incorporated in a future update. I wouldn't bet on that happening now...
