May 4, 200917 yr Hi allAs far as I understood, RCWS maintains the bank angle, after releasing "the joystick" (in this simulation), if AP is OFF... is that correct? ... so, that's not happening here... has this to do with my PC (type of joystick, windows, whatever), or do I misunderstand the systems of the MD-11?And, the second one... after disengaging the ATS and slowing down too much, the ATS gets activated automatically... that's clear (low speed protection) ... but, it seems simply to accelerate and never to stop this acceleration again... is that correct too? do I have to manually disengage this system or what's the next steps to do, after such an engagement of this system? (I wasn't able to find that in the documents... I know, it's for shure my fault, but... can someone tell me where to find that?)Rudolf
May 4, 200917 yr The MD11 does not have CWS mode, you are experiencing LSAS stability augmentation.I assigned ATS disengage to a keyboard key using the pmdg menu. In the VC view, it is the button on top of the center throttle. Dan Downs KCRP

Lol, I think you mean either button on the side of the Engine 1 and 3 Throttles. :( James Lunsford James Lunsford

May 5, 200917 yr I stand corrected... forgot CWS was an option. The AP disable button does not disable ATS. See AOM description of automatic flight features starting on pg AUTO10.1, the ATS description is on pg 10.26. See also LSAS Speed Limiting and Stall Protection on page 10.32. The number of pages for this section is an indication of the complexity. Dan Downs KCRP
May 5, 200917 yr Commercial Member Yes, RCWS is selected in the options menu.Rudolf,I'm sorry I forgot the 2nd possibility; Could it be that your yoke/joystick is sending spikes of inputs disrupting RCWS? (can happen if your hardware's potentiometers got old and/or were cheap quality from the beginning)You wouldn't notice spikes on say the PMDG B744 due to lack of CWS at work but you would notice those on the MD-11. At least that's what happened in my case and I had to order new potentiometers to give my yoke some maintenance. The only option to disable RCWS on the flight deck is by pulling down both AFS override switches. You wouldn't have used those to disable the autopilot?Markus Markus Burkhard
May 5, 200917 yr Hi allit's strange... I did change the security settings for the files (users -> full access) for the fsx-folder and all files in it ... and now RCWS is working... :-) ... so, a Windows-Problem, not an MD-11 problem... and, if this was written in the readmes... sorry, that I didn't see that beforethanks to all ... especially Markus...oh and... not, I didn't use the override buttons to disable the AP
