May 4, 200917 yr Ok, I have tested the new build 406...It seems the stutters came back for me...and Its not a preformance issue...Only when ASA updates the Updrafts/downdrafts it seems to stutter with the previous build it did not seem to do that...as for the METAR matching the Actual WX I am still on the fence...When OVC is present in a metar that means it should show OVC outside...which it does but when u get OVC at 7,000 FT it should stay at that..When flying out of KJFK the Wx was OVC 070 I took off and around 3,000ft the OVC layer went away and came the BKN clouds..So this issue is still not fixed...Other then that I don't see anything else...The stutters were bad in the first build...Then the second build 394 the stutters went away and now in 406 they are back again...it only does this when ASA updates...So if we can get the Overcast issue and stutter problem fixed ASA is golden...Specs:Dell XPS720E6850 Duo Core 3.0GhzNvidia 8800GTX23in Dell LCD Monitor2 GiG RamWindows XP MCE

May 6, 200917 yr Yesterday morning I departed form Amsterdam in FSX.It was raining at Schiphol and a complete overcast , but in FSX it was 1/8 scatteterd .I checked ASA and also there 1/8 scattered.The depiction was not correct.Also I have update stutters.For the rest I can use my MD-11, so ASA is on the right track :( 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
May 6, 200917 yr I was also having/have the same visibility/cloud coverage problem, always have, for many years, it gets better, but its never been fixed, by anyone, no disrespect to those that have tried/or are trying (I really mean that, and appreciate all your efforts, and please don't tell me there's nothing wrong or it's an isolated problem, it's been around for years and well documented since day 1), hence my recent post on depiction problems. The (partial) fix for me was to set all the visibility sliders to 200sm, and also uncheck the three boxes, fog layer, haze layer and graduation/smoothing, and let FSUIPC control the visibility (all boxes checked,no values changed, probably only applies to FS9, FSUIPC visibility settings don't work in FSX as far as I know). This changes the reported visibility on the reports page to 10+sm (you don't have to uncheck the 3 boxes for this to happen, just move the sliders) no matter what the Metar reports, and for me has totally changed the look. I almost always start at CYQA, and 9 times out of 10 the Metar reports 9sm visibility (don't understand why 9sm seems to be the limit at this airport, even on a perfectly clear day) and I would be sitting on the runway in overcast/soup/somewhere near 9sm visibility, and then between 3000' to 6000' the sky would open up (instantly) and produce what I should have seen on the ground, check the picture and the Metar in my post (clouds clear below 20,000', don't understand this ASA reporting either, the Metar says CLR, "not clear below 20,000", therefore no clouds, certainly not overcast). Now with the sliders moved to 200sm, and the reporting page indicating 10+sm visibility, I actually see the real weather, what should be depicted, while sitting on the runway, all the way up to my cruise level, no sudden changes. Then I thought, well this is going to screw up a rainy overcast day, giving me unlimited visibility, or at the least, something strange. Quite the opposite. I loaded weather through the historical page for a day I knew it had been raining, and to my amazement, the weather was crappy, the visibility was low (the report page in ASA still said 10+sm), and stayed that way until I reached my cruise altitude of 9500'(my testing flight). I've done a few 1 hour flights with this set-up in the Cessna 421c Golden Eagle and everything is fine, smooth/proper visibility and cloud coverage changes, just wish I could say the same for longer flights at flight level. Sometimes fly from CYWG to CYYZ (1 1/2 - 1 3/4hr.) in the PMDG 737, and although I never have any of the other problems posted here, I continue to have the clouds suddenly appearing/disappearing, thus messing up the visibility. If the Metar for the station that's influencing the weather (real or interpolated) says overcast/low visibility, you shouldn't be able to see the ground at 35,000'. Give it a try, all you have to do is move 3 sliders, if it works, great, if not, sorry, it's working for me (lower/slower). The boys/girls will sort it out, besides, lower and slower seems fine now, so back to the Golden Eagle. GlenASA Build 406FS9 SP1WinXP SP3FSUIPC visibility settings on
