May 10, 200917 yr HiI am considering to buy a new CH Eclipse Yoke, as I have been reading som less positive comments about the Saitek Yoke on different FS Forums.I would like someone who have been using this Yoke for a longer period of time to comment if the Elevator handling is smoother than it was on the old CH-yoke, and if Yes - is it still is smooth after a longer period of use - i.e. will it stay smooth or will the smoothness slowly decrease over time? Thanks in advance. :( RergardsHenrik Korning PedersenNuukGreenand

Rub a little vaseline on the shaft. It helps. On the other hand you need to trim your a/c and slowly let the control column back to neutral. It would be a great upgrade if CH added a small servo motor to mimic a/c trim and thus take the load off the spring.VololiberistaNuukGreenand Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
May 11, 200917 yr Author Hi VololiberistaThanks for the answer. I think I will try a little vaseline, but my worries about doing this long time ago is - dosn't this vaseline 'dry hard' over time?About the trim 'I am using FS9 and FSX' and have assigned the two left hand red buttons to 'trim up' and 'trim down' - repeat on - through FSUIPC - it works very well for me.RegardsHenrik

I hae only had yo do it twice since I bought itVololiberista Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
May 12, 200917 yr HenrikI also run the eclipse yoke and it is defnitely smoother than the old yoke. I would NOT rub vaseline on the shaft. Petroleum based (Vaseline is petroleum based) products should not be used on the CH products yokes. On the CH Hangar forum they recommend silicone based products to lubricate the shaft if needed. There is a list of products that they recommend.RegardsPeterH
May 12, 200917 yr Author Hi peterhayes and VololiberistaThanks for the info. I think I will take a look at the CH forum.BTW peterhayes, Do you have Rudder Pedals as I have. What function do I then use the new 'Paddles' for? Any ideas? :( RegardsHenrik
May 12, 200917 yr HenrikBTW peterhayes, Do you have Rudder Pedals as I have. What function do I then use the new 'Paddles' for? Any ideas? :( I use the paddles to "steer" the aircraft on the ground. In FSUIPC there is a method for disengaigng the paddles above a certain speed so that the rudder on the pedals kicks in. I will ask on the CH forum if this can be done in CHCM in "Mapped" mode.RegardsPeterH
