May 10, 200917 yr I have been flying the MD-11 with great enjoyment since it was released. After I installed the latest patch (might or might not be related), I have had a couple of flights where the oil pressure suddenly drops, causing the engines to loose power and sometimes die completely. I don't have any other indications and I don't have random failues engaged. If this happens mid-air or while taxiing, it doesn't cause too much troubles, as the engines can be restarted. (Of course, if I'm doing a longer flight and let the auto pilot and my virtual co-pilot alone in the cockpit, I would probably find the plane in as a wreck on the ground when returning.)The real problem arises if on final approach. I usually let the autoland do the business, so if the engines loose power and then kick back in with full thrust shortly before the minimums, it makes the plane shoot over the glide-slope and force me to go around. This has not happened (so far) with the PW-engines (Swiss), but only with the GE (Finnair-Moomins) and only when the engines are in or close to idle.As a side question I would like to ask if the oil-pressure really should depend on the thrust level or if this could be the root of the problem.Annasara
May 10, 200917 yr Are you getting the ENG_OIL PRES LO alert? If not, then loss of engine is the result of something else.Verify that you do not have any failures set in the pmdg menu. Is this happening with the ATS engaged? Maybe your controller needs calibrated? I reaching for straws because this is an odd illogical problem. Dan Downs KCRP

And this was actually last week, but I am not too worried about it. Steven Penninck
May 10, 200917 yr its completely random, I have only seen it once, but I thought it was because I pressed something on accident. And this was actually last week, but I am not too worried about it.I wasn't too worried about it when it happened the first time, but when it happens five times during a 2 hour flight (and twice during final approach), I started to think it was a bit more then just random.I do not have failures set in the pmdg-menu.I get the "eng oil pres low" warning for all engines simulataniously and within seconds the N1s and EGTs fall rapidly (all engines). Sometimes the engines come back at full throttle, sometimes I have to restart them.It has happened in air with ATS and it has happened on ground while taxiing (without ATS).I'm thankful for any hints you might be able to give me.Annasara
