May 28, 200917 yr Commercial Member Anyone know why this file in the windows folder gets so big? Currently mine is 18GB !!!!!!! My windows install has grown from 24GB to 37Gb in the last 2 days!!!! And it just seems full of wierd hex files. Surely something not right here. is there any upper limit on how big it gets and why ?

Hopefully this explanation from a MS Engineer will help better explain the WinSxS directory for you.
