May 30, 200917 yr the new Vista sevice pack is up on microsoft's webpage. one of the things they say it will do is provide about a 10% increase in performance. trying a flight out of KSFO with AI at 100%, i did see a small boost in FPS but more importantly a little bit better smoothness in a crowded area like San Fransisco.
May 30, 200917 yr Is that Vista SP2 for 32 bit or 64 bit? It's for both systems. Best way to get it is through the Microsoft Update "Check for Updates" program. If you have it turned on to automatically update, your system may have already been updated. Right click the computer icon on your desktop, click properties, and you'll see the current version installed.Jim Young
May 30, 200917 yr Thanks for the heads up! I'm on Vista SP1 32 bit and will upgrade today. We can use every advantage we can get when running FSX!

May 31, 200917 yr OK, got Vista SP2 installed no problem and after a day of using it I have to say I like it. It does seem to provide a very slight but noticeable performance boost on my system. I'd have to recommend it to anyone with Vista.
