June 1, 200917 yr Do you have the MadDog 2008 Pro? If so, have you ever wanted to take full advantage of this excellent simulator?I'm looking to put together a handfull of simmers to start some multicrew simming. 3 or more would be best as we could rotate out with one person at the sim instructors station.Reqirements:1. FSX accel and MadDog FSX 2008 Pro2. A rig that will run the Maddog at FPS above 25 FPS in the VC3. Speak English4. Experience with Teamspeak and be willing to use it for online flying.5. Have the motivation to learn the flos and CheckLists for all normal procedures and Abnormal proceduresIf your interested please leave a post below.JB
June 1, 200917 yr How well does the MD2008 pull off multicrew? I always thought that feature was sort of a gimmick, and never tried it.

June 1, 200917 yr "A rig that will run the Maddog at FPS above 25 FPS in the VC:In FSX? That is going to cut your pool of candidates down. I would be interested in knowing who is getting a solid 25 FPS in the Maddog FSX with the vc, what kind of equipment they are running and how they managed to do it.I have never tried multicrew, but have heard the Maddog does it well. Let me check to see the best FPS I can get with the vc on my system. EDIT: Hmmm... I just tried it again and frame rates were not too shabby. Not 25, but 15+. I am going to have to go back and see just what kind of FPS I can get with some adjustments. I wasn't getting anywhere near this last time I tried.
June 1, 200917 yr Even with Maddog's sliders all over to the performance side and FSX going as low as it can go, I still can't get 25 fps, and there is a huge drop when I look from one side to the other in the vc. I may have to revise my opinion that it is unflyable in the vc, though. It is a frame rate hog, but maybe I could get it smooth enough to fly (I'd settle for a reliable 15 fps). No doubt it is a different story with the vc box unchecked. Then frame rates are good.Good luck on your project.

At KVNY looking north with just GEX and UTX I get a solid 18. If I switch the FPS limiter to unlimited I get a variable 25-30 in the same situation and this is with ASA running and REX 256 res clouds.Either way... how about raising the FPS limit.. lets just try.. I'm dying to do this..And why aren't I getting email notifications of the thread?JB

My rig is nothing particularly special: I set it up per Nick Needhams documentation, nHancer, etc., and run full VC all the time. If you set all the VC parameters to the right - yes you can bring the sim to its knees - but once you`ve played with it - its fine. That being said - I run 3840 x 1024 x 16, minimal weather, about 30% airline (WOAI) and 12% road, no boat or GA. If I disconnect two of the monitors and run 1280 x 1024 I can crank up all the sim`s settings a good deal higher.http://s118.photobucket.com/albums/o83/pj_3_bucket/FSX/ - slideshow is best.Regards, i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

June 2, 200917 yr I'm making progress. The Maddog does seem to prefer unlimited frame rates. I did a quick circuit around Fontanarossa and saw frame rates from the thirties to the high teens, with 20ish the most common at the airport with some traffic. More importantly, it was smooth.I am not familiar with Teamspeak and can't promise consistent FPS above 25, but would otherwise at least be willing to take a look. Most importantly, I am going to have to revise my opinion of the flyability of the Maddog with the vc. I had relegated it to a 2D choice only and that was pretty much the deciding factor in favor of Coolsky's Super 80 Pro. I doubt the Maddog will ever see the kind of frame rates I get with its competitor, but if they were good enough the Maddog has a lot to offer, starting with a vc that is more natural looking. I'm glad I don't have to decide between the twol So if you're interested, PM me and fill me in on the details. I have been going through the startup procedure in the vc and now I'm thinking how much better it would be with four hands instead of sliding back and forth between seats with ctl-shift-enter/backspace. That pedestal is a pain in the you know what.

June 2, 200917 yr Sounds good excellent...I will PM ya with the details. So we have 2 ppl need one more to rotate and operate the control panel...Where are ya located by the way?JBI am near St. Louis, but on the Illinois side of the river, which puts me in the central US time zone. I live alone during the week because my job is up here, so I have a lot of free time for flying. The first time I had had the Maddog out of the hanger in a very long time was last night, though. When I need to scratch my MD-80 itch I've been using Coolsky's Super 80 Pro. I love both airplanes for different reasons, but the Maddog was in the dog house for frame rates with the vc. Which do not seem to be as big a problem as they were before. I think maybe I have tweaked a bit since then, and unlocking my frames made a huge difference for some reason. Usually, I get better performance with them locked. There is a lot of voodoo in all of this. I know Angelique VC has spoken very highly of the Maddog's multi-crew capabilities and I am anxious to try them out. I have never done any on-line / multi-crew flying at all.
June 2, 200917 yr So Paul, you wanna give it a try?JBhahah! Nah - 'fraid not, my friend! My wife would have a fit if I found another "interest". The sim already has to compete with a '72 Triumph Bonneville, a '66 Ducati SCR, an acre of land, flying R/C aircraft, two miniature Poodles and four grandchildren! :( But I regularly help out where I can on the Maddog site and I know there are a goodly number of folks there who are very experienced and might want to jump in. :( Cheers and good luck! i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
June 3, 200917 yr As much as I like the Coolsky MD80 Pro, I can't get it to stop crashing. It is the only add-on I have that gives me an out of memory error on my Vista 64 rig. Ark -------------------------- I9 9900K @ 5ghz / 32GB G.Skill (Samsung B) / Aorus Master Mobo / EVGA GTX 2080Ti FTW 3
June 3, 200917 yr Are you starting with a default cessna the switching at the airport? You might consider backing off on sliders to see if you can get something stable. I can fly it, but have learned to treat it with kid gloves and not do things like try to look at the map. There are a lot of discussions and suggestions on the excellent Coolsky support forum. (I guess you realize this thread is about the Leonardo Maddog, though.)
