WX Radar and WideFS / Client PC

Featured Replies

Now that I'm on a WideFS soap box, I was looking for a WX Radar that can use Active Sky Advanced on the Client PC. I'd like to have the radar readily accessible on the client PC :( . Any options out there? I came across FSFlightMax but see it's not compatible with ASA. Any ideas guys?

Ya know ASA has a nice weather radar built in that can be installed into all of your AC. Or you can just run ASA and have it on the map with 'locked to FS position'. Since you already have ActiveSky this is a nice cheap method.

Hi,Just use the map from ASA!

I know I could use the ASA map, but I'm a purist. I want all of those fancy knobs and buttons with realistic radar. :( Looks like the RXP could *possibly* be the answer. Maybe I can run it on the Client PC? I'll do some research, thanks guys!

Well, too bad. There don't seem to be any with networking capability. Was worth a try though.
------------------------Zach- not sure why you want to network weather radar. I have the DreamFleet Bonanza which includes the Reality XP WX500 radar. As far as I can tell there is no effect on FPS whether it is On/Off or even displayed. Same for the Reality XP 430 GPS. Alex ReidDreamFleet Bonanza - Misty day @ Stewart BC. Thanks Alex, but yes. I want it displayed on the client pc. Seems to be no options out there!
-----------------Zach- I'm not familiar with the operation of WideFS. Is it not possible to undock a popup gauge or a view and then drag it to a secondary monitor running on the client PC ? (I assume you are employing Wide FS to drive multiple monitors rather than using the main or a second video card. Or am I missing something?)Alex Reid

Hi All,No Wide FS will not touch multiple monitors. For that you need to look at Wide View. Thanks,
