Cruise ALT not showing on legs page

Featured Replies

Hi,today I crossed the pond to New York. At due time I have performed a step climb passing from FL320 to FL340 that was my opt altitude. This is what I have done:1) reset MCP to 340002) open VNav page on the FMC upload FL340 on the link as my new cuise altitude3) EXECThe "Queen" managed to climb quite nicely in Vnav, but, once at cruise level, I noticed that the engines were still in CLB mode while they had to be back to CRZ. I opened the legs page and saw that the new cruise altitude for the next waypoint as 35000 instead of 34000. I tried to change it through the legs page but it didn't allow me to do anything..for the FMC I was simply at FL340 still climbing to FL350...but in VNav!Hope it's clear. Am I missing anything or is it a bug? Thanks

You only had to set the MCP to 34000 and push the dial.To reset the cruise in the CDU, use the cruise setting instead of a fix altitude. It' been awhile, but I believe you can get the the cruise setting on the cruise page.

Yep. Cruise altitude must be set in VNAV-CRZ page, not LEGS. LEGS page will set an altitude for one waypoing only, and not the waypoint you are currently tracking to either. Only subsequent waypoints and only one at a time, and it is used as a crossing fix altitude (ie expecting to decend or climb).Trent.
