Installing AI aircraft outside Aircraft folder?

Featured Replies

I recall that there was a method of uninstalling AI aircraft outside the usual folder, so that they won't slow down the initial loading of FS9. It is a significant slowdown, as currently if I move all AI out of the folder and start, it takes more like seconds than minutes. Can anyone remember what it was and point me to it?-kyle

I know in FSX this is possible, but to my knowledge the only thing you can do in FS9 is to run a utility that will modify the .air file so your AI Aircraft won't show up under the 'aircraft' selection in FS9.If there were a way to resolve this that would be great. Ever since I installed all of my AI FS9 takes forever to start up. :(

Thanks. In fact my source also confirmed he did this in FSX. Apparently it's not possible to do in FS9 then. Another one for the list of reasons to move on to FSX then :(
