June 18, 200916 yr I continued to have the S turn problem both with ASA and without it in my PMDG 747x. I had it with FSUIPC even with wind smoothing on and also with FSX real weather. This was very frustrating! I discovered I needed to do some additional steps that I found in the beta download read me file. I did exactly what it said. I did the fsx.cfg tweak and disabled turbulance on aircraft in fsx settings. I am running ASA with DWC on and FSUIPC with weather settings off. Finally...ASA is working and it seems very realistic.I find that the winds jump around and the plane will adjust itself according to the winds...sometimes gently dropping a wing into the wind and then straightening out. DWC seems to be doing a good job of preventing major shifts but it doesnt elimate them entirely creating too sterile of an environment. To be honest it makes the whole experience much more realistic. I find I have to pay attention more to my plane and my systems in gusty situations.I can't wait until the full sp1 is released. Guthrie
June 18, 200916 yr Hi Guthrie:Many thanks for your post. I have just decided to persevere with FSX and the PMDG744 and i am hoping that tonight, my second FSX trip back to EGLL from HECA will work out better with the S turn issue. I tried the first leg, EGLL to HECA without implementing the HIFI recommendations apart from FSUIPC off to confirm whether the s turn issue was resolved in my case, and it was emphatically not. I modded the settings as per the HifiSim advice last night and hopefully the trip back shall be smooth sailing, although i must admit that i am a little worried at loosing the turbulence. It was always something that helped break up the monotony of the 12hr long hauls so hopefully the guys are able to find the solution. I think it must have something to do with simconnect, but hey, if tonights test flight goes well i will be one happy bunny.CheersPaul Is there a way to auto ignore trolls, flamers and any post with a +1 in it here?

Wing flex happening all over the place. In fact I had to adjust the wind settings in ASA a little. I think you will be happy.Guthrie

I think you will be happy.Guthriethis is interesting to hear. i also had refrained from making those changes because i thought it was basically sidestepping the problem by getting rid of turbulence altogether, which is not what i want, i prefer it when the ride gets bumpy from time to time if i'm flying in some bad weather. i'll try this out for sure.thanks,-andy crosby
