June 22, 200916 yr I've been having this problem for a while and it's driving me crazy-In the menu settings, there is an option that says something like "pause task on exit" or something like that. Whenever I right click or open up a menu, the screen goes black for a second and then comes back. While that menu is open, the game pauses. This happens even when the above option is unchecked. When I close the menu, I get the black stutter, and then the game continues. Why does the game keep pausing and stuttering whenever I open a menu? It happens for anything- overhead menu, right-click menu, and the kneeboard. Anyone have any ideas?Second, does anyone know how to have the overhead menu up when the game is running? When I right click, the option for "hide overhead menu" is greyed out, and I can't select it. The only way I can open the overhead menu is to hit ALT, and when I do that, the game does the anyoing black screen/pause thing.Third: Up till now this was a nuisance. But today I got the PMDG 737, and whenever I open the "styles" menu from the overhead, the game does the black screen thing, but doesn't come back, and the screen stays black. When I ctrl+alt+delete, I see the menu for a quick second before I go to the desktop and the task manager. When I try to go back, the screen is still black, and I can't get back to the game, and I have to kill the process to quit.Does anyone know what's going on here?thanks

June 24, 200916 yr Hello, Second, does anyone know how to have the overhead menu up when the game is running? When I right click, the option for "hide overhead menu" is greyed out, and I can't select it. The only way I can open the overhead menu is to hit ALT, and when I do that, the game does the anyoing black screen/pause thing.Try to run the game in "full screen" instead "windowed mode" and check what happend.Regards.Gus.
June 25, 200916 yr Author I am running full screen mode. Hitting ALT is the only way that I can get the overhead menu to show, since the option on the right-click menu is disabled.
June 25, 200916 yr Hi,This is certainly how my FS9 works in full screen mode. To get the menu to be present all the time, I go to Windowed mode (Shift-Enter).Hope this helps, Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
