June 25, 200916 yr The one thing I miss the most about fs9 is the rain on the windshields, I never thought something like that would bug me so much, I don't know why they left that out of FSX, do you think a third party will ever create such an effect for fsx? and would it be possible for the PMDG guys to ever create an effect like that for there aircraft, after all the MD11 does have working wiper blades, I just have no need to turn them on :)
June 25, 200916 yr This effect must be enabled for each individual aircraft. Use Notepad to open the aircraft.cfg file, then add the following line to the [effects] section:windshield_rain_effect_available=1To turn the effect off, change the 1 to 0. Stuart Ball Stuart Ball

Stuart BallWOW never heard of this before, I'll try it out tomorrow, if it works I'll be dam impressed. Thanks
June 26, 200916 yr Author I just tried it in the MD11 and it didn't work.I did it in the md11 and it did work. except it only seems to work in the 2d cockpit, but still its better then nothing, indyrocks thanks man.
June 28, 200916 yr I meant to add that I've only seen it in the 2D cockpit, although the motion of the raindrops is very realistic. Glad to have been of help, but sorry I didn't mention the 2D cockpit only. Stuart Ball
June 28, 200916 yr I only have FS9 so I'm just curious - is the FSX rain effect behave/look the same as FS9? Or is it a lot better (or worse?)?Thanks,Subin
