This looks like the black/disappearing textures issue. It is related, bizarrely, to the way Vista / Windows 7 handles sound. The solution is to turn your sound quality settings down to 8000Hz. (Control Panel > Sound > Speakers > Properties > Advanced > Default Format = 8000Hz). Do the same for all your sound devices (headphones and microphones). Not everyone has a 8000Hz option: if not, choose the lowest you can select and see if it helps. Hi,The textures don't just disappear - the whole display goes black!!! :(I tried it last night from external view, and the model disappeared completely (but the rest of the external view was OK - just suddenly without an MD-11). I couldn't get a screenshot due to some stupid thing in Vista preventing screenshot capture from inside of FS whilst fullscreen.When I moved to VC view, the only model parts visible were the pilots seats, throttles, and a couple of other bits - the rest of the aircraft was AWOL and I was looking mainly at tarmac. Eventually the sim crashed.Interesting comments in the link, but here are my system specs:* Intel Core2 Duo E6700* Intel i975X chipset* 1Gb GeForce 7950GX2* 4Gb DDR2 800MHz* SB Audigy 1 Platinum* Vista Ultimate x64 SP2* FSX Deluxe SP2I don't have any issues usually with the MD-11, and can not replicate this behavior with any other aircraft. This problem ONLY occurs, if I go into the menu and change the day to night, or night to day. I haven't tried going from day to dusk/dawn or combinations thereof, or dusk/dawn to night, etc...EDIT: I have NOT flown day to night or night to day yet to see if this occurs during normal usage. My last long-haul flight was before the update. I also do not remember having this issue before updating the MD-11. I assure you, it sounds exactly like what i've called the black/disappearing texture issue. Obviously it's entirely your call as to whether to try the suggested fix.Tim

Yes, that is exactly the symptoms I have. Sometimes textures dissapear, other times complete black screen with menu selection. Sound fix has worked for me. I couldn't reduce sound quality, but have been using Alchemy with no ill effects. SOme have reported sound problems with Alchemy though.
