July 4, 200916 yr Hi allI have been thru the forums about CDT , OOM etc etc but didn't find a solutionI don't understand why from time to time my FS9 kind of freeze but not completly. The sound can still be heard normally but the screen freezeand the mouse cursor can barely been moved and is changing very fast between the arrow and the hourglass. If i restart FS9 it does not work , i have to restart the comp. All other things on the comp are working without a problem once FS has been shut down.I runned windows manager, cpuz and speedfan when this happen and all parameters are ok except that the cpu has a 50% load in windows task manager until i shut down FS.I really don"t know where that might come from... Most of the time i use PMDG aircrafts or Leveld767 or F1ATR with fs2crew ,fspassenger, fsrealtime, ASV6 and AISmooth.I don t use ground environnment or other scenery enhancementI have an intel coreduo 3.4 mhz with a gigabyte MB and an asus EN7900GTXNote that some flights might be ok and some are not.....this can happen even on a non addon FS9 airport
July 13, 200916 yr Got very similar problem. I also lose the menu bar in FS and it looks like the cockpit has moved vertically. I can't force fs9 to quit - hitting ctrl-alt-del does nothing, and I have to do a hard reset. Seems completely random which seems to go against an overheating issue. My system:- core 2 duo 8400 3.0Ghz 4 gb ram 512MB 9500GT winXP SP3Any ideas?

Flight Simulator is probably still running happily in the background but your corrupt screen isn't able to show it.I can only suggest you check you have the latest driver for your graphics card and the latest version of DirectX.John My co-pilot's name is Sid and he's a star! http://www.adventure-unlimited.org

My last graphics card update made my screen look so sharp but would crash my sim. I went back to one earlier this year and my screen may go to dark for a few seconds than return back to the sim. I have done this procedure several times and conclude it is the latest update. I have an old card ATI X300 series which the new update may be to much for the old card.I need a new graphics card to keep up with the rest of my systems.Carl Perry
