  1. Change my mind about FSX. Just had my first out of memory situation in FSX. I have 3GB ram and 1GB graphic card and using 6GB virtual memory of a 1TB harddrive. FSX running smooth and then it says out of memory on one of the short mission flights. ARE YOU KIDDING. Not even flying a full flight? Wow. Back to FS9 with Camsim 787 and Ken mitchell panel for 787. Hope Sky Spirit or IFLY have enough common sense and guts to take a chance on making 787 for FS9. Carl Perry 13+ year Sim Pilot
  2. I just got FSX this Xmas. I see ALL the potential with addons for the sim and enjoy the missions but my FS9 with my $2000.00 DOLLARS worth of addons over 10 years will not be topped any time soon unless there is a NEW SIM made. Not even 3dPrep will change this view and it does not look like MS is in the business any more, AGAIN, with that MS Flight junk. I plan to ENJOY both FS9 and FSX until the world economy improves and there is a better sim made. Carl Perry 13+ year Sim Pilot
  3. Are you kidding me!!! Just got FSX this Christmas. Plan on developing it but by no way does it equal what I have with FS9. It will take me at least $2000.00 an another 5 years to get FSX where my FS9 is now. That is not including upgrading my computer. FSX general aviation flying FS9 heavy metal.

Slow your roll there. The top three birds are Maddog Md80, Level D 767 and PMDG 747. IFly may have taken the 4th spot but the top three have history of super performance and system modeling. I have ALL 4 and enjoy flying all 4.Carl Perry 7+ year sim pilot
  7. Plane is very real. this also happens with the APU gen and has to be reset from time to time. Happens in real life. Dont fly her much becasue it is so real. Dont have the time to flight plan, load plan and follow ALL of the checklist. Becasue if you don't you are asking for trouble. Did not use the checklist the last time a flew her nad had problems with ground radar. Pilots of this plane need to be really paid. Carl Perry 7+ year sim pilot
  8. I wish somebody answer the question. Because me buying the registered version depends on the answer to.Carl Perry 7+year sim pilot
  9. Yea ran into once. It is one or more of the textures missing. This happen to me when I download a texture. If you have one level d that loads correctly check it against all the textures that dont.Check gauges tooCarl Perry 7+year sim pilot

Guys, there is no way around reading the manual first on this one. NO SHORT CUTS. Sorry. You have to watch the EGT and make sure both engines stay around and below 475 on take off. I bet we all made the mistake of trying to contact the developer when we Finnaly learned how to crank her up, taxi to the runway, take off and watch that first engine go out. It wasn't funny then but now Hahahahahhahaha. This IS the best REAL flying sim plane in FS9. Too real for me sometimes do not have the time to flight plan, weight plan, procedure plan, checklist plan.....wait a minute Im not a real pilot. WOOOOOWWWWW.Carl Perry 7+year sim pilot.

  14. Same as all the planes. I assign the same keys a code to work on all my planes. For instane my key assignment e opens main door, y=wingfold, H=tailhook. One of these controls the chocks. I think it is tailhook. This plane flys and works real so there is no short cut in reading the docs. I had to just like everyone else.Carl Perry 7+ year sim pilot
  15. Thanks Level D. Too late to fly tonight in KATL but tomorrow first thing I will take the new plane for a spin. I will always have FS9 just incase Level D change their minds about another model (7?7). Even if I get MS Flight.Carl Perry 7+year sim Pilot
  16. It was me who installs new textures every flight. There is a difference in the rain clouds using REX. Everyone is forgetting the GB load of textures for REX. My flights are different for each time I fly. That is one of the main purposes for REX. i do defrag my drive once a month with no problems. This is just good computer cleaning. One last time, to all who want the same BORING flight do not reload any REX textures. For those who want to experience new looks, just like the real weather produces, than load REX beofre every flight. period.Carl Perry 7+year sim pilot
  17. If you have Activesky there is a setting that will start Ground Pro after getting the latest weather numbers. The setting is also in GroundPro which helps these two programs to work together on your flight plan textures. This is based off a flight plan and not just world weather at the time. Why would you need textures of ground color for areas you are not going to fly. Carl Perry 7+year sim pilot
  18. In the option screen of REX you uncheck what you do not want installed. Save that settings and go to flight planner.Carl Perry 7+year sim pilot
  19. Yes. Sorry to misled anyone. I go between Zinertek water and Rex water textures depending on where I fly. I also vary my Ground Pro so I vary REX with the others to get endless combinations. If you are just a regular old flyer than you do not have to downlaod REX everytime. BUT if you want a new experience EVERYTIME you fly take the 10 mintues (shorter without REX water textures) it is worth it. Trust me. It starts to feel just like when real pilots fly when they think they know about a particular weather situation but find out is is slightly different from what they have experienced before. Is that not one of the reason why pilots are paid more for there flying experience espeacillay in different weather conditions. I am just try to get as close to being a pilot as I can. Too far along in life to drop job and family for a GA license when a fly heavy metal in the sim world almost every day. As you can see by my signature I have been at this sim flying for some time with as many addons as you can think. Carl Perry 7+year sim pilot.
  20. I install Rex Textures before every flight because I keep getting amazed with the variations REX has. I continue to find DIFFERENT skys almost every flight(not dealing with rain clouds, they are very simuliar) There are so many combinations of my REX and Ground Pro textures it is out of this world. I have seen triple cloud layers with different kinds of clouds at different altitudes. Some flights my start off looking the same but once Active sky really kicks in (my delay settings on upload and control) you will experience such real life type of weather changes and different looks. It is worth the 10 minutes or more to download Rex everytime. Look at it as preflight pilot briefing before boarding the plane like real pilots do.Carl Perry 7+year Sim pilot
  21. First go into Active Sky 6.5 and deactivate the button that LOADs texture bottom right. You will still select all the weather components. I also have GroundPro so you have to check the switch in Activesky for that. always start Activesky first and then go into Rex make sure you have check the buttons that representing the load of textures only and nothing to do with the weather part of Rex. you still have to download the weather button after chossing the flight planner tab. Load or let it pick a flight plan then load textures. If you load water textures it will take twice as long. once the textures are load and it says OK. CLOSE REX. DONOT leave it running. Active Sky will take over the REX textures in the SIM. You only have to set up ACTive sky buttons once but REX everyflight. I use these two with other programs everytime I fly.Carl Perry 7+year sim pilot
  22. YES IT IS POSSIBLE. I am doing it right now. You must know how to do the inner works of drive management to do it right. If you are not an expert at the computer workings do not try to use the program I am going to name; It is Junction Link Magic by Rekenwonder Software. It creates a junction from your C drive to whatever drive you name as the location of FS. It fools the computer in thinking that the software is still in Drive C when it is in another drive. If you are not a pro you could mess up alot of software and losse FS and it's location if you cannot catch the concept of this technique. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK but it works. My FS is now on my 1TB G Drive and the computer thinks it is still on Drive C.Carl Perry 7+year sim pilot
  23. Buy both. Use Rex for the textures. They are out of this world. ActiveSky 6.5 is the stable weather program.Carl perry 7+ year sim pilot
  24. REX extreme 2004 with Active sky 6.5 and Zinertex water is the best. I surprise all the REX supporters have not chimed in. Maybe they are to busy flying in the sim using the product.Carl Perry 7+year sim pilot

9.75 consist of ACTIVESky 6.5, Rex2004 extreme, Ultimate Terrain,Zinertek's water, FS Genesis and Ground Pro II. Now this is the right version of FS9.Carl Perry 7+ year sim pilot
