July 5, 200916 yr Okay a few things i need to check...1. I have downloaded a POSKY 737-800 Private Jet, Can i use the PMDG 737-800 Panel & VC with it?2. I have seen in some Screenshots inside VCs that you can Centre the view meaning your in the middle of the cockpit and not in the captains seat, it looks quite good, how do you do this? July 5, 200916 yr It is my understanding that VC's are built into the model of a particular aircraft - if the model does not include a VC, it will not matter what panel you use with it - the VC simply will not be available.
July 5, 200916 yr You can shift your view around by using combinations of the Control, Shift, Return (Enter) and Backspace keys. Depending on the combination, those keys will move your view up, down, left, right, forward or backwards. If I recall correctly, Cntrl+Shift+Return will move your view over to the right from the the pilot's seat, giving you the view you seek. Cntrl+Shift+Backspace should put it back the other way. There should be nothing preventing you from using a 2D panel from one aircraft in another aircraft (generally known as a 'merge'), it is just a case of swapping files around and revising the panel config file so it knows which textures and gauges to use, although since the PMDG 737 actually has numerous 2D panels and custom gauges, it would not be a case of simply swapping one file for another, there'd be a fair bit of work involved. There are a few tutorials kicking around on the net which tell you how to do that sort of thing (if you try any of them, make back up copies of files first in case things go wrong).Swapping VCs is a bit trickier and may not be easily possible in many cases. Generally speaking the VC is a linked 3D model that is part of the 3D exterior model's file (even though the VC and the exterior model are usually two separate models). Changing this would normally require access to the original 3D model file in order to replace the VC model with another one, which would then have to be correctly positioned and textured. If you really want to get into that kind of thing, I'd recommend downloading and installing the Flight Simulator SDK (Software Development Kit), and taking a look at the FS Insider website. Be prepared to do a lot of reading though.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
