July 8, 200916 yr I took a look at my scenery.cfg file and I see that there is a difference in the spacing gap between entries of Layer etc. sample below shows even spacing:[General]Title=FS9 World SceneryDescription=FS9 Scenery DataClean_on_Exit=TRUE[Area.001]Title=Default TerrainTexture_ID=1Local=Scenery\WorldLayer=1Active=TRUERequired=TRUE[Area.002]Title=Default SceneryLocal=Scenery\BASELayer=2Active=TRUERequired=TRUEwhen I go further down I see this:[Area.121]Title=MegaSceneryEarth Washington-001Local=F:\Scenery\megaSceneryEarth\Washington-001Remote=Active=TRUERequired=FALSELayer=121[Area.122]Title=MegaSceneryEarth Washington-002Local=F:\Scenery\megaSceneryEarth\megaSceneryEarth\Washington-002Remote=Active=TRUERequired=FALSELayer=122Notice the spacing difference. Then further down it seems all joined together:[Area.125]Title=MegaSceneryEarth Washington-010Local=F:\Scenery\megaSceneryEarth\megaSceneryEarth\Washington-010Remote=Active=TRUERequired=FALSELayer=125[Area.126]Title=EarthSim ChanIsles AirportsLocal=C:\Program Files\Earth Simulations\Channel Islands\ES-CI-AirportsActive=trueRequired=falseLayer=126Remote=[Area.127]Title=EarthSim ChanIsles AutumnLocal=C:\Program Files\Earth Simulations\Channel Islands\ES-CI-AutumnActive=trueRequired=falseLayer=127Remote=Does this spacing difference have any effect on performance? should I edit to make the spacing equal as in the first sample?Any advice appreciated.

Link to his download website is below. Select the "Utility to sort and renumber scenery.cfg layers" line from the 4 downloads shown to download it. Read the readme file and it will explain everything.I have used it for several years with FS9 with excellent results. Be sure to follow the instructions for installing it exactly.Hope that helps.EDIT ADDED: Also be sure you are using it on the correct scenery.cfg file. The one FSX uses is not in the same location as the one in FS9.This is from a friend who uses it in FSX -quoteI just placed the FSTscenery.exe file in my C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX folder (that's where the scenery.cfg file FSX uses is located in WinXP) and made a shortcut to it on my desktop with a shortcut to the scenery.cfg file next to it. Makes running the application, then looking at your scenery.cfg file after (to make sure everything was fixed in it) very easy. end quote
