delete default scenery

How do I delete default scenery from fs9 ? Any help will be greatly appreciated..Thankyou ..Flyin Foolish (KGCM) :(

You never delete default scenery. There are items in there always used. In addition the files each contain many airports. When you add scenery in FS, a properly designed scenery item contains exclusion statements or objects that cover over the specific area in question in effect nullifying many of the default properties for the same scenery area. That is why position in the scenery configuration in FS (setup, scenery library) is important with the position labeled #1 being of the highest priority.Beware of scenery installers that replace the airport files labeled AP***.bgl. If they modify those and another airport hasd modified the same AP file (many airports are in that one file which covers a certain region or "tile") then there is a conflict. Some scenery add-ons depend on the original scenery being in the AP files. AI also use information in those files for entering the outer phase of the airport approach, items such as approach gates.

What if you save all the airports in AFCAD in the Addon Scenery/Scenery folder? Does not the same information get saved somehow? I had a problem with the default KSAN airport having planes park in the terminal of FRF-KSANsa. Saving all the default airports and moving said file stopped planes from parking in the terminal. Traffic still moved through the area even.If said information isn't there, how does one stop default airports from overriding airline parking if you do not have a way to exclude the default airport?

what I mean is the default buildings etc
what I mean is the default buildings etc
probably not a good idea.

I agree, not a good idea at all.Any scenery installed in the scenery library will overwrite them anyway. I use Airport Environment Upgrade which improves the buildings and other things at the default airports.WhiteKnight, I think you have to use the Jetways and Terminals package (ver9) with the KSAN FRF for it to work correctly.BTW, I love Ghost Recon, I have to say though, I prefer the older concept :(EDIT: Also, any AF2 file in the AddonScenery folder will overwrite the default layout.

Hi ANDYSAN.Hey everyone, I think we've misunderstood ANDYSAN. If you read his next post in this thread, I believe he wants to "exclude" some default buildings and such and not "remove" them from the HD. I expect he just needs a program to create Exclude Files but I don't know what that would be; I'm no scenery guy. R-

I do have Jetways and Teminals installed with KSAN. Still, for some reason, planes parked inside the terminal with the default parking from MS and not the FRF-KSAN. I even worked on the FRF-KSAN to ensure planes were parked in the right place and added some GA parking to it, but to no avail. Saving the local area default airfields in AFCAD to my Addon Scenery/Scenery folder before removing the default .bgl has solved the parking problem. Still, now I wonder if other aspects may be messed up even though I did save the airports. And yes, I prefer the original GR concept over the new AW concept. Thank god that there is someone who agrees and is developing a new game for the Tac-Sim genre that will blow everything else out of the water. The company owner is a former RSE employee.
