PMDG_MD11_FSX_Setup validation

Featured Replies

I bought PMDG_MD11_FSX last night, and have been trying to install since last night to no avail. Searched the threads and have tried Open DNS, have emailed twice with no response.Running Win7, Admin filter is off and have Norton360 turned off to this program.Any ideas how to get this program to install? Finally got the return email, had to go through another email sender. PMDG doesn't like yahoo accounts?.

PMDG has a spam filter.. some are blocked but I don't know the specifics except I get spam from yahoo accounts.Anyway, you didn't provide anything in the way of information that might help us understand your problem other than it doesn't install. What does it do? Any error messages? If the problem is a failed validation as suggested by the thread title then I recommend you log into your account at pmdg and verify your order number. This step will serve to verify both email address and order id.

I have the same issue. I bought Vista Ultimate 64 which can use more than the 3.12 GB RAM WinXP Pro 32 is able to. The installation and validation of the PMDG 747 went fine but the MD 11 installer tells me: Your user information could not be validated. Close the installer before trying again. Or contact PMDG Technical Support ([email protected]). IP Address and information logged: AFFIRM.I double checked the validation data but it won't work. I sent an email to the [email protected] with my order information.Any help would be appreciated.Best,Rolf

I assume you got an automated response to your msg to support. It is important that you do.There was someone with a similar problem a couple of months or more ago, and it had something to do with his domain name surver not having current data for resolving the pmdg url but that is the extent of my knowledge of that incident. If you let them, I'm pretty sure support can sort it out for you but it takes a little time.

This is the response from the installer. "Unable to validate your license. Please contact PMDG Technical support." Click ok and stops the installation process. Out of everything that I have installed for FSX this is the only program I have had this problem . The reason I did try the OpendDNS is that I saw the post from earlier about the DNS problem. Not sure what other info you need.

I am not a tech guy, the support via email is the best way to solve this. However, make sure you don't have a fire wall blocking the validation communications.

  • 2 weeks later...

Still can't get the validation to accept my data, and yes, I have a legal copy of the MD-11 including the hard copy manuals. On my PC I have a dual boot configuration. Windows XP Pro and Windows Vista Ultimate 64. On Windows XP I had installed both MD-11, for FS9 and FSX. Today I uninstalled the FSX Version on Win XP and tried to reinstall it but now the validation no longer works there too, what the hell is going on??? Still no answer from [email protected],Rolf

Rolf: Did you get an automated response from pmdg support right after you sent the message? If you can validate the FS9 version but not the FSX version then that means your communications isn't blocked by a firewall and your DNS server has the right IP for pmdg... these are problems that have been found in the past to interfere with validation.A common error, maybe not yours but worth checking, is trying to validate with the wrong order number. I always recommend logging in to the pmdg site and verifying the order number. This action confirms that the email, password and order number they have matches what you are using.Hope this helps.

Rolf,The answer to my problem was the length of password. When we shortened it problem solved. Have re-installed twice just to verify!Hope this helps.

Hello DanNo, I did not receive an automated response. Looks like my mail or the response gets stuck somewhere. I use my email address (ico[at]ico.ch) for online shopping with PMDG since February 2006 and never had any issues. But something has changed because I installed the MD-11 flawlessly on on the same PC last November. I thought it could perhaps has to do something with Windows Vista and decided to test it and deinstalled the MD-11 on the harddisk which runs Windows XP, yesterday. Now the validation fails there too, obviously this is not a Windows Vista specific problem and yes I have disabled the firewall, uac and so on.Interestingly the validation of the PMDG 747 (same email address and password) worked perfect. (@Ralph - I changed the password to a 8-digit one, even checked one with 5 digits, tried more than twice but it did not help).Kind of mad that it works with the 747 and fails on the MD-11. Can the support team make investigations what causes this headache. Thanks in advance. Best,RolfSOLUTION - SOLUTION - SOLUTION -->The validation fails on the original installer for FSX, released October 14, 2008 but works with the combo installer released January 6, 2009. This really did drive me nuts %P<-- SOLUTION - SOLUTION - SOLUTION

Thanks for reporting back on what you found to solve the problem. This makes sense, but I don't think I've heard this one before. Apparently, each installer is a unique instance with it's own validation. PMDG is working on a new authenication process for new products that will hopefully allieviate some of the problems we've had. Thanks again.
