July 19, 200916 yr Hi,I am new to the forum, but hope I can find here help for a problem I am facing for a while now with above mentioned scenery. I had installed it proparly some while ago, but than deactivated as I preferred using VHHH instead of VHHX. But since than I had these weird rectangular spots of dryland where actually the map should show Sea, as you can see on my screenshots. earlier this week I decided to fly around HK again but activated 9d/VHHX again - still with the spots. So y'day I uninstalled 9d completely and proparly with its own deinstall option. The spots were gone! Than reinstalled (newly downloaded the entire thing) 9D KaiTak as instructed (deactivating default HK photreal before and also my VHHH scenery before). After adding the newly installed 9d V2 in fs9 I additionally ran the 2.1 update. Now the spots are back again :-(i tried to put an exclude for the entire HK area in front of the 9D scenery in the scenery.cfg but apart from crippling VHHX's runway nothing changed (i actually took the screenshots at that stage. So now I am pretty desperate, can anyone help please? Would really appreciate.I thought I might have installed an earlier China-mesh/landclass long time ago that causes this, but I cannot remember. Thanks already for all answers.
July 19, 200916 yr Commercial Member Boy, that is a mess! :( Since you are new to the forums, I would do a search on '9Dragons'. If I remember correctly, after we released 9D there were a several threads and even a tutorial by a simmer on how to set up 9D to work with VHHH. Just looks like you,ve got several files mixed up somehow. You need to get back to square one. From the looks of the screenshots looks like you installed 9D version 2 (which has the installer), which is good. But make sure you add the update 9Dv2.1 as that will get rid of the blurry ground textures. However, it did not work...To make this clear: There was no VHHH scenery active in my fs9 when I installed 9D. I followed the instructions very carefully (deactivating all sceneries in the area) before installing it.Anyway, I just once more de-installed 9D with its own tool and: the spots were gone! I than ran the installer again but opened the HKG scenery WITHOUT activating VHHX yet. And the spot were BACK!So thought it was sth in the generic scenery, but it doesn't seem so.so in a nutshell: HEEEEEEEELP!!!!!
July 20, 200916 yr Just an idea:deactivating a scenery in the scenery.cfg does not necessarily mean that all files of such scenery are not active... The readme of VHHH2005b says: 2. Unzip "af_lc.zip" to: Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\scenery(This is the AFCAD file and Landclass file.)Unless you do not deactivate the whole Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\ - Folder the VHHH landclass file will remain active. Check if the file VHHH_lc.bgl is in there and rename it to VHHH-lc.bak. Your anomalies should be gone.Than follow Clutch's advice if you want to keep both VHHX and VHHH ( http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtop...amp;hl=9Dragons )Ciao, Peter

Thanks Peter! That was it. Shifted the VHHH landclass file into a backup folder and the spots disappeared. Great jobs. Thanks so much for your help!
July 21, 200916 yr Commercial Member Glad you got it straightened out but you still should not have blurry textures like I see in the last screenshot if you are using 9D version 2.1, unless of course you have maybe an ooooold pc. July 21, 200916 yr Glad that I could help. I do not like to put scenery files into the generic Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\ - Folder as one can forget about those or after some time one does not anymore understand to which scenery a specific file belongs. I suggest to create always a own folder with a full name like "Landclass VHHH by Kwong" which I activate separately in the scenery.cfg. it is easier to track it.Ciao, Peter
