PMDG 737-600/700 Freezing FS9 Upon Selection

Featured Replies

Hi All, Just got the PMDG 737-600/700 installed etc. but when I click the variant & model I want no matter which one....after clicking "OK" the first time nothing happens, nothing happens on the second go either but on the third go it just freezes FS9...only the PMDG 737 is doing this but this is the plane I really want.I tried un-installing it then re-installing it but I'm still getting the same problem.Anyone ever had this problem or know what to do?All help is appreciated. Thanks, fireoff

After uninstalling the aircraft, all the liveries have to be removed and reinstalled, better yet don't install liveries until the installation is working.Make sure your problem isn't with the FSUIPC modules.Try the 737 removal tool, available from the pmdg downloads section.Make sure you don't assign the pmdg, or any complex add-on, as the default airplane. This is a sure problem source for MSFS.Hope this helps.

Ok, I updated the FSUIPC as I had not done that. I can at least now select the aircraft but when I hit "Fly Now" FS9 is freezing. I am also getting an error on startup which I didn't get before: Flight Simulator has detected potential incompatable aircraft or software. File: GaugeSound.dll . Just to let you know I don't use FS2 Crew as I see some people had a problem like this on that software.Any ideas to get me going please?fireoff

Your FS9.CFG file is not set up properly. If everything else is working then edit the file and add the following:[OLDMODULES] GaugeSound.dll=1If other functions are not working then I would try uninstalling, make sure all PMDG references are deleted and then reinstall.

Ok, I added that part "as-is": [OLDMODULES] GaugeSound.dll=1it didn't help though. I removed everything with the removal tool...re-installed and still having the same problem: freezing when clicking "Fly-Now"....I've been told it's a great product "compared to FSX standard 737" so I really want to get it going.fireoff

This was only to solve the "Flight Simulator has detected potential incompatible aircraft or software" problem. Unfortunately the freezing could be many things. Let's try an easy fix first. Have you tried renaming your FS.CFG file and let FS create a new one? Your going to have to setup your FS environment again but that is better than a FS9 reinstall. If this works slowly add back your config settings one at a time to see what's causing the problem. If the above doesn't work I would recommend you contact PMDG support.
