Fs2004 FFX 737-300,737-400 Crashes

Featured Replies

I downloaded the FFX 737-300, and 737-400 and before I just downloaded the blanks and it crashed to the desktop during me selecting the aircraft to fly, now I repainted the aircraft and it still crashes to my desktop during selection. Please Help??? (And yes I know how to repaint).

I've used the FFX 737 models (and their VistaLiners updates) in FS9 for years and never had any issues with them. I have had CTDs during selection with a variety of aircraft, but it's usually been the panel (or specifically a gauge within the panel) that's been responsible. Are you using a new panel that you haven't used before? Alias to the default panel and see if it still happens.;)

Well I don't have any add-on's for the plane except for the sound but the aircraft panel is the default fs2004 737-400 panel.

Convert ALL of the bitmaps to either DXT3 or 32-Bit format and see how that works.

I agree.I have used them for years with no problems at all.I think they are great aircraft.Probably good for beginners in passenger jet flying as they are so easy to takeoff and climb(perhaps unrealistically so? a tad space shuttle like in climb)they are all very framerate friendly and look as good IMHO of course as the Poskies IFDGS etc despite using only a small number of texture files.PS I think they already come with DXT3 textures anyway (another reason they are good on frames)so no need to convert.PS I also agree with you about panels.this is the most likely cause of a plane not loading.PPS Try downloading a complete FFX with textures (I am sure they are available through FSCom)and see if that will load.PPPS You haven't removed the default FS9 737 have you?removing the default aircraft can cause problems, best leave alone.especially if third parties alias to there panels.cheers Andy
