July 25, 200916 yr Hey,So i've had tile proxy for 2 days now and i love it!, the only issue i have is it's so blury and you carn't see jack on the ground. Is there any way to fix this? Enhance this or even to make the images more seeable.I'm using FS9i have 6gb ram, windows vista terrabite of HDD.And i have a pretty amazing graphics card. Please help!
July 25, 200916 yr Hi Lewis,No photoscenery is much good until you're 500 to 1000 feet up.The problem with Tileproxy and fs9 is that the maximum resolution in fs9 is 4.75 metres per pixel.FSX standard resolution is 1 metre per pixel and Tileproxy will even run at 60 and 30 centimetres per pixel. You've got a lot of memory, a lot or HD space and you say you've got a good graphics card, so I assume you must have a good CPU as well. If that's the case, I would say get FSX.What graphics card and CPU are you running there?I would say that it takes a while to get Tileproxy running as youwould want it to and you need to read the manual through a few times until you really understandwhat the settings do. Level mapping for example really makes a diference as does increasing the LOD radius inthe fsx.cfg (can't remember what the corresponding setting was in fs9).What AF and AA settings are you using in your videocard software?Have a read of Ed Truthan's pages and some of the posts on this forum.Hope this helps.IAN Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)
July 26, 200916 yr Hi,Thanks for informative post back. The problem with my going to FSX is that i hate it! i can get lie 50fps out of it but i still do not like it. plus the fact i have over 1000 pounds worth of addons for fs9. is there any way of getting that 4.75 metres per pixel any higher because i have the computer to do so?Specs:AMD AM3 Phenom II Quad Core Processor60GB OCZ Vertex Series Solid State DriveSamsung 1000GB Spinpoint F2 5400rpm Hard Disk DriveSATA300 Technology for Superfast Storage OCZ 3Gb DDR3 1600 (3x1Gb) Gold Tri-Channel Memory Kit TWO Sapphire 1024Mb Radeon HD 4890 PCI-Express VGA Card AMD 790FX Chipset Providing 3-Way Crossfire Features LG GGC-H20L Blu-Ray, HD DVD Rom And DVD Writer Integrated 10/100/1000 Gigabit Network Card Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-FI Extreme Audio 33-in-1 Card Reader Logitech 5.1 Channel Speakers for a Cinematic Experience Saitek Gamers Keyboard with illuminated keys Saitek Gamers Mouse for Superiour Precision and Response625W HiperPower Power Supply for stable and Future Upgradeability CoolerMaste HAF 932 Black ATX Case 8 USB 2.0 Ports The above is a custom build great computer but expensive ;) (
July 26, 200916 yr Not only does FS9 only do up to 4.75m, it even does that badly, blurring it up pretty quickly. The old VFR UK scenery was famous for it.FSX can load in even the 30cm scenery on my old pentium 4 machine with a Geforce 6600 great, fsx must be much better optimized. I can even fly jets using the 1m and 2m scenery well enough, as long as it's cached, 250 kts is too fast for the internet stream that's all, fsx can show it great if it's there to load in.You can have FS9 and FSX installed. FS9 for all your addons, FSX for tileproxy. It really is different all together using fsx with it.
July 26, 200916 yr Nice system Lewis.I was considering getting a solid state drive when I next upgrade. How well does it do flightsim?I also would second everything Hardcore has said.IAN Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)
