ProjectAI Website Attacked

Featured Replies

(Please excuse my placing this message here, but I don't know where else to put it, as there doesn't seem to be an obvious AVSIM Forum for it. Feel free to move it to a more appropriate location if there is one.)Quietly, and with almost no publicity, the ProjectAI website was attacked by a hacker some time ago. Fortunately, it didn't cause much damage, and the most obvious symptom was the loss of its home page, although I understand that the library hasn't been updated recently.Today, the website is unavailable, and you get a message saying that it is being updated. My experience over many years is that ProjectAI is a very useful complementary site for AVSIM, as I think it still has the largest collection of AI aircraft models & textures of any website, albeit some of them are looking a bit dated just now.Although its problems are small compared with AVSIM, I'm sure all members wish it well, and await full service from both you and them as soon as possible.

I hope that the PAI guys can fix this as soon as possible! :-)

WHAT is WITH people HACKING Flight Sim sites these days. :(
I think it was just an unfortunate co-incidence. they were completely different.

Hanstatdg

Sure it may be completely different, but a hacking is still a hacking. :(
With Sim-outhouse that makes 3. More than co-incidence don't you think?

Millions of web sites + some get hacked everyday of the year = co-incidenceSome water also fell from the sky at my house today, but I didn't think the sky was falling.

Hey guys, I also heard that VATSIM's Anchorage ARTCC website was hacked!!!

Projectai.com was not hacked. I am simply moving the site to a new and faster server and upgrading a lot of the site with better software. It is unfortunately taking a bit longer than I had hoped. We were also not attacked in the past. The change of the home page was due to the fact there were no new packages in the pipeline.

My apologies for suggesting at the head of this thread that the ProjectAI website was hacked.Actually I got this information from the PAI Forum itself! There was a message which stated that the front page was not available because it had been attacked.I'm delighted if this story was untrue. There seems to be so much mindless hacking these days that it's good news to be told that this one is untrue.Since we can't access the PAI forum at present, may I use this one to hope that ProjectAI will be up-and-running again soon, because it is so useful running alongside AVSIM.

Update. It seems that the ProjectAI website has quietly returned, without any announcement, and still without its homepage.Anyway, it's great to see it back. It's still one of the top libraries for AI aircraft models & textures, as well as flightplans and lots more.
