PSS B757 Framerates

Featured Replies

I've done dug through the old post throughout the pss section and its about my framerates. I recently just reinstalled FS9 and all my files within the past couple of months due to a HD swap. I've got numerous payware and freeware addons BUT the only one I'm having problems with is the PSS B757 with framerates, doesn't matter if I'm at a default, freeware or payware airport, I get horrible framerates with it since I reinstalled it, 2-17 fps it varies bad. All my other payware PSS 777, PMDG 737,747, Wilco AB, 737's, basically every other plane I have I get 22-35 fps ( locked at 35 ). I did what the various post sudjested, checked for tcas.dll's in the modules folder and so on with no luck. Can anybody give me some help since PSS is basically giving no support for this no more? The only DLL file I really dont know what it goes to is this- cfo_tfxinfo.dll - Does anybody know this one? The thing thats puzzling me is that I didn't have the framerate issue until I reinstalled it back on my pc after I fixed it. WierdMy Specs are:P4 3.0ghz2gig ramSB audigy 2Nvidia Geforce 6200 A-Le 256mb

Also curious about this one, but haven't gotten around to asking about it. On my system, I'm getting the same performance issues. It's obviously the gauges, and it's so bad I think maybe a memory leak is to blame.I've branded the PSS 757 unusable because of it's dismal frame rates.

Hi,Do you have the patch installed (1.3)? If not you can get it here:http://www.justflight.com/faqs.asp?drdProd...%20for%20FS2004I had this problem too when I got this add-on. I was extremely frustrated because I loved the aircraft and it's systems. Today I am able to fly it with any problems at good frame rates on my middle end laptop. There are a couple of solutions depending on the problem. Mine apparently had to do with with the VC gauges. You can't rip out the VC completely since the 2d panel uses some of the textures. What I did was, I simply erased all the lines concerning the VC in the panel cfg.Needless to say, you can't use the VC anymore by doing this but in 2d mode you'll be able to fly it even in most conditions without falling below 20FPS.As mentioned, there is also a problem related to a certain module. This is also covered in my old thread below. Here it is:http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=248061Hope this helps

Hi Onur."Just Flight sent me their reply. Thank you JF.It seems the current version of the PSS 757 is 2d/VC only, it's not possible to use it 2D only. So keep this in mind if you intend to buy it.After trying all sorts of things with the CFG lines and mdl files, I got the best result by erasing the VC lines in the panel cfg. This erased the gauges in the VC giving a little boost in FPS."I wonder if doing this for other aircraft such as the CS B757 would work. What do you think.

Steve.

Hi Steve!Well, you could certainly give it a try. If you're not satisfied with it, make a panel cfg back up and go for it. :( :( I can't say if it might work or not since I don't have the CS 757 and different add-ons do have different panel settings and gauges... :(

I can't see removing the VC from CSim's 757, since that's all it has really going for it! Performance also isn't half as bad with the CSim 757 as the PSS 1.3 757. I'm also not willing to fly without a VC; Bummer. :(

I had a fix a long while back that seemed to be the trick for me.In your C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Modules folder look for.dsd_xml_tcas.dll & dsd_xml_tcas.iniRename both of these to .bak then run your 757.See if this makes a difference. Sure did for me. And if you're wondering.Yes, I still do have TCAS.

I did look for those INI files in my modules folder, they were not in there, however thought I compromised, I used Tobias "N433TC" Grubers Posky/PSS panel merge and I'm getting my framerates back to normal so I think the VC textures was killing my framerates. However, for some reason when I engage the autothrottle, it slams the throttles to full power, :( any idea how to fix that problem? I followed the instructions and everything works great except that. So some help would be greatly appreciated.

Having done many many many merges, let me ask. Does this merge the PSS panel to the POSKY or. Does it merge the POSKY model to the PSS itself? The latter is the only way to go.

PSS panel to posky, and I'm enjoying the framerates very much, but when I engage the autothrottle it slams the throttles to full power, I can't figure out the problem with that? I followed the instructions, I used the posky's original .air file, do I need to use the pss air file as well?

You need to merge the POSKY model into the PSS folder and use the PSS air and a modified cfg file.Doing it this way also lets you use the PSS load editor and fuel planner correctly.

Ok, how would I go by doing that?

Here's a post I did for the PSS/POSKY T7 merge. Still the same process.

Well that won't work to well. You need to backup everything in the PSS folder (whichever model you're using, 772 or 773) and move the POSKY model & paints into there.Keep a copy of the aircraft.cfg the PSS.air file panel & sound folders in the main folder.Using the Aircraft.cfg file. Edit it for the contact points & lights and model.By doing it this way, it allows you to still use the PSS load editor. And it flies much better.I'm at work right now, But..if you need a hand drop me a line and i'll try to help ya out.
Keep in mind everything has to match in the Aircraft.cfg file for names. If you rename the model PW, GE or RR it needs to reflect this in the cfg.

Well, let me ask this, If replaced the posky air file, by backing it up, then copying the PSS air file/ renaming it to make the original posky name, would that fix the problem with the autothrottle? Instead of adding files to the pss folders? Would that work also?

Well, good news! I answered my own question about the air file, I backed up the original posky air file then made a copy of the pss air file, renamed it to match the posky air file. I tried using the posky plane in FS, without a problem, everything works and on the plus side too, I'm enjoying 25-35 fps , but I appreciate the help from ya'll thanks
