July 31, 200916 yr I bought and installed Aerosoft's 'Mallorca X' For FS9, and it's stunning, I love it, I like flying to the Balearics.I also noticed that Aerosoft offers an earlier version of Mallorca with the 'Balearic Islands & Gibraltar', which ofcourse as the name suggests offers all the Balearic airports, naturally being an earlier version it's less detailed, but still the scenery is of a good enough quality for me, and it includes the other airports and they're all AES ready. If I bought this package, it would I assume overwrite the Mallorca X package already installed, however because Palma de Mallorca airport in the Mallorca X package is of a higher quality, I'd want to keep that over the version in the Balearic Islands & Gibraltar package.Essentially, all I'm after is the airports for Ibiza and Menorca. If I was to uninstall Mallorca X, install Balearic Islands & Gibraltar, and then re-install Mallorca X, would I be left with the Ibiza and Menorca airports from the first package, and the higher quality Palma de Mallorca from the second, and would there be any scenery, or AFCAD or AES conflicts that would screw things up?Matt.
July 31, 200916 yr Hi Matt.I think and I am not totally 100 percent sure but I think that during the installation it will look to see if you have an earlier version of Majora Palma airport installed and then disable it. If like most Aerosoft products it comes with a PDF file it might mention something about earlier version in the documentation. What I do know is that all those airports are having new versions so expect an IbizaX and MenorcaX at some point according to again what Ive seen posted elsewhere.Craig
July 31, 200916 yr Thanks CraigI can't remember when installing Mallorca X if it said anything about previous versions, but then there are currently none installed, so that may be a dialogue box that arises in the event that there is a previous version installed.I'm not actually on the computer that the program was downloaded to or installed on at this moment, so I will have to have a look through the pdf later this evening to see if there is anything about it.Regarding the older product, it's listed as
July 31, 200916 yr I would ask on the Aerosoft forums. I would be surprised if it couldn't be done fairly easily, but it would be best to get instructions from them, saving the effort to reverse engineer the design.scott s..
