Dynmanic.DLL

Featured Replies

Just after takeoff from Frankfurt at night, I received an error message citing a problem in the file "dynamic.dll." I found it odd because although I've see the stupid FS error message about a million times before, I've never seen it cite dynamic.dll before. Can anyone shed any light on what the dynamic.dll file does and what could cause it to spit out an error message? I would appreciate any help. Thanks

I don't think dynamic.dll is a file in its own right - it is a way of loading a file. Most dll files are loaded as a static dll, but some can be loaded as dynamic dlls. That's abouit as far as my knowledge goes, I'm afraid.Error messages are useful and not "stupid". However, if you have only had this happen once, it is probably a on-off hiccup on your computer. If you can pin down a repeated situation then there is a chance of tracking the problem down. It could be a damaged file unable to load.Kindest regards,John

I've had plenty of the error messages, and usually I'm able to solve them with the issue typically lying in botched AI traffic. However I've never had is cite that specific dynamic.dll before.
Dynamic.dll is in the modules folder.
Good point. I should have looked there before replying!I have done some searching on the net and there is hardly a reference to this file, so problems with it must be rare. One site, that claimed to tell you what dll files do said that it is a Flight Simulator file but its function was awaiting review. In other words, they haven't a clue either.Apologies for the original wrong info.John

Just a guess, but have you added scenery for Frankfurt? Could be an old style bit of 'dynamic' scenery causing the error. I think Fs98 or 2000 stuff run in fs9 sometimes does this.
