August 7, 200916 yr When I first installed the PMDG 737, I thought when I clicked my mouse on either the PFD or NAV gauges in the 2D panel view they would pop up larger and I could use them with the landing panel but I seem to have lost that functionality now, perhaps due to my tinkering with the panel.cfg file. (I installed a freeware pushback gauge and Pro Flight Emulator's Taxi Guidance gauge into the PMDG 737s the lazy way: I copied them from one of my other aircraft into the PMDG panel using FSPanel Studio.)Is there any way to restore this functionality short of a complete reinstall? August 7, 200916 yr The uninstall/reinstall shouldn't take very long. The saved items like flightplans shouldn't be affected. The liveries will present the most effort because the easiest way to uninstall them before uninstalling the aircraft then install after aircraft has been checked out. Dan Downs KCRP
August 7, 200916 yr Author Thanks, Dan. I'll do it. I was most concerned because I really would like those two custom gauges in there -- esp. the Taxi Guidance mod for Pro Flight Emulator. Am I right in assuming that the panel.cfg is copyright protected and any tinkering with programs like FSPanel Studio will cause something like this to happen? I was sure to keep the PMDG custom header wording at the top before saving -- Thanks again Dan.Chuck Boulais PS: Your doggie is the best! What a doll. Smooth Skies! -- Chuck B. August 7, 200916 yr Regarding panel.cfg: I don't represent PMDG so all I can do is refer you to the user agreement. I think you can do mods to the cfg files, there's nothing that I am aware of that will intentially cause problems if you do modify the various cfg files but the biggie is you won't find any support for these mods from pmdg.Regarding the dog: "Goodness Gracious Grace" lost a long battle to liver cancer 18 May. I have thought about changing the pic but just this morning at 3am I suddenly woke from a dream I was having of her. Still in mourning I guess. The pic will stay a little while longer. Thanks for noticing her. She was lovely. Dan Downs KCRP
August 7, 200916 yr Author Dan, I'm very sorry for your loss. I've been through it myself a couple of years ago and I'm afraid I'm about to go through it again very shortly here with my wife's golden retriever. It usually takes me a year or more to "get over" the loss of my dog, although I never really do, so don't think it's at all unusual to still mourn her since it's only been a couple of months. Just know the only thing she would ever want for you is to be happy. Dog's are cool that way. Thanks for the help with the panel -- I wasn't even sure I had remembered the gauge behavior correctly at this point, and I was slowly going crazy with all the manual reading and searches.
