August 9, 200916 yr The post in the link you gave, explains that a file called "FX_2.bmp" must be present. As far as I can see its not! Do you think this will solve my problem? If so.., one more question.., where do I get a new fx_2.bmp?Best regardsPede MeyerPeter Hayes has the best solution (sending you a copy of FX_2.bmp). I lost my fx_2.bmp too after uninstalling the Shockwave lights (you have to do it manually and I screwed up somewhere). This afternoon I decided to do the repair option but I had FSX Acceleration installed so had to uninstall that first. That was some chore! I swear it took over 30 minutes for it to uninstall. Then I inserted the original FSX disks and tried a "repair". LOL. Impossible! It kept telling me I had a later version installed and closed. My only option left was to completely uninstall FSX. I did and I swear it took at least an hour for that to be completed too; then another 45 minutes (at least) to reinstall FSX/FSX Acceleration. But I got fx_2.bmp back into the Effects/Textures folder!!! Now I'm going to have to reinstall all my addons but not a problem as I can take my time with those. Best regards,Jim Young
