Frequent reloading air, land & sea traffic

Featured Replies

Help. Within the last two days, FSX is reloading/refreshing air, land & sea traffic once every few minutes. When this happens, the little message box comes up, then that box becomes superimposed on a black screen & the sim pauses. Another box says complete, and most of the time the previous screen returns (when running the PMDG MD11, sometimes the screen stays black, but that's another issue).I have REX, ASA, UTX & GEX installed. I tried reinstalling the default textures, thinking REX may have done something, but no improvement. I also tried starting FSX with a fresh CFG but that didn't help. Anyone know of a setting that can be changed to prevent this?i7 9.4, 6 gigs ram, ati hd4800, vista 64 bit, no acceleration on fsx.Thanks.

Have you ticked "Keep FS clock in sync" in FSUIPC

You'll find this worked because if the time changes in FS, it triggers an AI refresh. This is more for other readers who experience the same issue.

Thanks to you both. A seemingly harmless (and apparently logical) option to choose in FSUIPC, but that caused the frequent refreshing and it was driving me nuts.It seems each version of FS has had it's nuances. I just upgraded my hardware and as a result, I've only had a few months to play with FSX. As satisfying as I find it to be at times, discovering all it IT'S nuances has been a real PIA.Thanks again.

This is the same in FS04 also. It's not a bug, but something that has to be a part of the total AI system in order for it to work correctly.

This just may be a solution Ive been looking for ever since Ive been getting familiar with FSX now that I can run it decent. This always happens everytime I load a flight for the first time, and usally around 10-30 seconds into it. Just about the time you are going thru checklists and starting the engines! So, I will go into FSUIPC and uncheck this option. Now, I have to say that I have NEVER seen this happen in FS9 and I still have it checked in there.thanks! I will try this later.
