August 15, 200916 yr I saw the good review of Cloud9's Bergen so installed it yesterday. The tower view is at ground level though.I have Lee Swordy's AFCAD programme V2.21 & after reading the manual decided to have a go at raisning the viewpoint.I highlighted the tower & increased the elevation number I saw by 100ft & 'saved as' which went into my Addon Scenery, scenery folder as the manual described. I started FS9 but the Bergen viewpoint is still at ground level. AFCAD shows my altered elevation nember. There's a KAF2_ENBR.bglL with yesterday's date & smaller size which I gather is the original renamed file with a AF2_ENBR.bgl which I assume is the current one! I've reread the manual but can't see why the viewpoint it didn't change? I'd appreciate a pointer or 2 :( Thanks,Terry.

August 15, 200916 yr You problem intrigued me so I downloaded the trial version of Bergen for FS2004 and installed it.As you said, the tower view was indeed almost at ground level.Using AFCAD, I opened the provided afcad for ENBR and deleted the tower they had provided and then inserted a new one (at the same general area) with a higher elevation setting (319 feet ASL as a test).Started up FS2004 but did NOT select the "previous flight". I had exited FS2004 while in the poor Tower View and selecting the "previous flight" would have retained that setting.Instead, I created a new flight starting at Bergen and the Tower now displayed as I had set it in Afcad.NOTE: I also disabled their Afcad (named ENBR.bgl - changed the name to ENBR.BGL.OUT) and named my revised afcad as AF2_ENBR_Opa.bgl - so I would know exactly which file I had edited.Hope that is helpful.
August 15, 200916 yr Hello,Many people forget or don't know .. but a easy way for change or create very easy other tower view is to use Fsrecorder :)http://www.fs-recorder.netAnd those differents tower views can be archived and call at anytime.Regards.Gus.
August 15, 200916 yr I've reread the manual but can't see why the viewpoint it didn't change? I'd appreciate a pointer or 2 :(Did you review your situation from a saved position? For reasons I don't really understand, a saved flight will save the existing viewpoint so it may be worthwhile to visit the location as a new flight. And if it is your default start location, temporarily change it to somewhere else.Hope this helps,John My co-pilot's name is Sid and he's a star! http://www.adventure-unlimited.org

Sorry if that caused offence.John My co-pilot's name is Sid and he's a star! http://www.adventure-unlimited.org

I now know how to repair other views!!If it hadn't been for seeing this airport in a recent airal photograph (Airliners net??) I'd not have come across the Cloud9 review on Avsim. Great stuff & many thanks.
August 16, 200916 yr Glad to hear you got it sorted out Captain. The important thing to remember - as both John and I mentioned - is that "any" saved flight also saves the current Tower coordinates and elevation. This is easily proved by opening the FLT file with Notepad - the second entry, under the [Tower] label has that data.So when checking your work in the sim, you would not see the results of your edit to the Tower position if you used a previously saved flight.BTW John - no offense was taken. We were both on the same page - just approached it from a different perspective.
