Possible to use original aircrafts from FS2004 to FSX?

Featured Replies

Hello. Is it possible to use the original aircrafts from FS2004 with FSX without any problem? I've tried a couple of times but it always seems to be some problems with gauges and stuff. Is there a guide or something like that? This might be a stupid thread, but i am stupid. I guess you guys already know how to do this. I've searched but i didnt find anything about it.Yours sincerely, mandalph.

IT is possible. For practical purposes "most" FS2004 aircraft can be made to work in FS-X. Few, however, do so without some sort of finagling.THe main problem appears to be, as you've noticed, gauges. Some gauges that work in FS9 were built to older (FS2002 and earlier) standards, that don't work in FSX.Some panel.cfg files may call out gauges that aren't in the FS-X libraries.IT's a pain, but you may have to cross check the panel.cfg and verify that the gauges called out are in fact in the FS-X gauges folder (or you can place them directly in the aircraft's panel folder).FOr my part, the FS9 planes I've installed into FSX have either FS-X install variations, or I "fool" the installation to make it believe it's going in FS2004 (I have a separate "Aircraft" folder off the main FS-X folder, and follow the FS2004 intallation instrauctions)

He's asking about the original aircraft from FS 2004... not third-party addons. As I stated, possible... but why? :)
Hi! And thanks for all your help, i will read the guide.Because there is so much more original aircrafts for FS 2004 (or fs09) than to FSX. :(
