August 20, 200916 yr Hi folks,After years of FS9 I'm on the point of dipping my toe in the FSX water... I might not like it and certainly am not ready to leave FS9 but I now have a dual-boot machine so thought I could give the demo version a shot to see how it runs.A couple of questions:- Does the demo have multi/dual-core support enabled - this is important because that's a key feature for me?- If not, can I install the service pack 1 onto the demo to fix this?- I understand the demo is based around Princess Juliana International Airport so is there a way to see the non tropicalregions in the demo? Thanks for any answers,Geoff
August 20, 200916 yr 1) No, but the full sim has it after the patches2) No3) not sure as it's been awhile since I tried the demo, but I don't think so.keep in mind the demo is not a very accurate representation of the sim as it stands today. The full sim looks and performs much better. Best, Michael KDFW
August 20, 200916 yr 3) No. And there is a time limit. I think it is 20 or 30 minutes for each flight. The full sim does run better, but the demo gives a good idea of what thing look like. Do the same flight in both FS9 and the demo.Bob Bob i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.
August 24, 200916 yr Author Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I seem to have a problem... I am trying to install the FSX demo in Windows7 (x64 RC) and it claims to not be a "valid windows executable"! Is this a known problem - and is there a fix? There should be no problem under x64 - it would work with Vista surely? I have tried reinstalling and also running the installer as admin. Thanks,Geoff
