Time to tear it all down

Featured Replies

Well the mood has hit and I think I will be formatting and re-installing the whole mess. Going to reformat the OS drive and the Flight sim drive and reinstall everything. I have learned a lot about imaging at work and am going to keep fresh images of both so that I can avoid this in the future.Any hints or tips? I have slip streamed my XP disc with Service Pack 3 and am just checking to make sure all of my Payware installers are backed up on the FreeNAS. Anyone want to join me? I did not do this last year before the race and had a crash while carrying the baton. Cheers!

No! I'll leave it until something bad happens. When something like that happens I'm usually glad about it. It's an opportunity to start all over again which is both exciting and inspiring. FSX is running just fine, but I was looking for talk about updating the Pony to comply with the FSX SDK this morning. Nothing so far, but they've still got 5 months to do it. It would be nice to see those screw holes plugged.

Rebuilding the system from the ground up gives me a chance to try some of the tricks I have been playing with. I have used Nlite to slipstream the service packs in and take out some windows components from the XP install. I also want to have a fresh image of teh OS Disk once I have all the drivers and all my add ins for FS Set up so that if worse comes to worse, I can just re-image the OS Drive.
