Corsair Obsidian Series 800D Case?

Featured Replies

I'm in the process of specking out a new computer and came across this "new" case while on the Corsair website. I found it retails for about $280 U.S. and it seems like a pretty special piece of cabinetry???? http://www.corsair.com/products/800d/default.aspx Any thoughts???
There have a couple of threads pertaining to cases over the last two months, do a search. As I mentioned in one of these threads the Corsair Obsidian Series 800D case does have a lot going for it but does not have a removable motherboard tray. The cable management looks to be very good though. Looks to be a best-in-class case, actually. Motherboard trays are completely superfluous when you have a chassis that large. Especially when you have access to the reverse side of the motherboard through a cut-out that covers the CPU socket area for easy access to replace an HSF without removing the mobo (huge plus for those of us that constantly seek better air cooling solutions). I should know, I used to have a Silverstone Temjin 7 and now run a re-badged Lian Li PC-A71, two of the biggest cases on the market.

I whole heartedly agree! Most of these removable motherboard trays are flemsy and cheesy. I took a chance with a cheaper case (CM RC-690) with no tray this time around, and I'm honestly not missing it.If this case shares the same high quality as all of Corsair's products (I use a PSU and and have used ram by them), it's a winner. It looks as if it does; definetly my next purchase. It's classy looking -- and since I've had my current case, I have new found respect for hiding wires behind the motherboard tray.
