I will use this hard drive mainly for FSX but I will also use a bunch of other programs (Acrobat, Office 2007, CorelDrawX4, etc.).I read many times that the windows 64 bit is the way to go but I don Edmundo Azevedo
September 2, 200916 yr if you have 4 gigs or more of ram, 64 bit always, less than 4... go with 32... September 2, 200916 yr Author Thanks Peter. I do have 4 gigas of ram. Will install W7 64 bit. A lot of work to do because I have to re-install Fsx and all my addons!BestEdmundo Edmundo Azevedo
September 2, 200916 yr Regardless of how much memory, I highly recommend a 64 bit O/S so that when and if you decide to go beyond 2Gb of memory, you are already set and you will not have to face a new install. You should consider 2Gb minimum for FSX regardless as it can use nearly all of it, and under 2Gb you may get OOM (out of memory errors).Hope this helps,
September 5, 200916 yr Thanks Peter. I do have 4 gigas of ram. Will install W7 64 bit. A lot of work to do because I have to re-install Fsx and all my addons!BestEdmundoGlad you got a good answer. A clean install is like a good spring cleaning:) I too would recommend the 64bit install. You will find that a large selection of 32bit games will still work.My main reason for going 64bit is for Flight Simulator X. With that game I would recommend 4GB, so you would then go 64bit to take advantage. FSX will love you for it. lol Derek RogersPC Specs: Intel i7-4790K 4.6GHz : 16GB RAM : GTX 970 4GB
