  1. Amazing, time to do some research.*puts on C++ coder hat*
  2. Agreed, there are a lot of jerks out there who want to ruin it for everyone. We do need to be thankful for those who enforce the rules and keep things flowing as smoothly as possible.
  3. That is another possibility, but I wouldn't be suprised if it was the same person myself. I doubt anyone would use their real name pulling crap like this.
  4. I feel really sorry for the poor folks who don't realize that it's a scam. This just confirms however that the person is changing their name on the site every time they shift to a new name for their scam. It makes me wonder who they really are.
  5. I have a fairly uncommon name personally. I have realized to calm down over time, and some of the arguments I've gotten involved in I do regret, however generally speaking, I don't try to get in fights anymore unless I have to. Even compared to this time last year, I've seriously mellowed out. I still personally feel that some members of the community need a wake up call though. As a general rule for anyone who hasn't been convinced yet, remember that unless the employer knows you beforehand, there's good odds that one or two major incidents would ruin your chances of employment.
  6. You would be right, however most of that stuff is pretty hard for Al Queda to get a hold of.
  7. A great comedian, he will be missed. And stop calling him Shirley already.
  8. I have to agree, you can't stick to only developing for the last generation of technology and software. When you do that, you destroy your potential. When you destroy your potential, you destroy your future.
  9. It is a fair stance, this is just some con artist trying to market Free Open Source as a new product. It's just a con-artist who is trying to play on people's not knowing about flightgear. It is especially bad given that I've seen ads for it or it's related scams on facebook and google ads, and just about everywhere else. I have to wonder how many people get ripped off because this guy is so spread out in marketing and the people are uninformed.
  10. The reality is that there is no one perfect method to secure the air, however hyperbole over sensationalist crap isn't going to help anyone.
  11. The "company" appears to be based out of New Zealand, however the individual is in the United States according to the FGFS mailing list.
  12. Thanks for that clarification. I wasn't aware that the composite would not be able to be machined using CAD/CAM.
  13. I'll probably do that sometime soon. I have a lot of other stuff on my plate however right now. That's something that I was considering, however the main issue with the Falcon 4.0 sounds is that Atari had a bad tendency to try to sue modders of Falcon 4.0, and I really doubt they'd take kindly to my using it on a non-Falcon project all together. Also, sorry my response took so long, but I recently had a little bit of a wild ride getting a term paper ready and handed in. That kind of shifted my focus away from everything here, and I completely forgot about this post until 10-15 minutes ago.
  14. I think it has more to do with the engineers designing the aircraft than the manufacturing of the parts. Generally speaking, you would more likely see a CAD program, such as Autocad or Catia used to design the aircraft, and then the part designs from the CAD program are put in the CAM program which basically automates the stamping out of the parts using robots and a computer. At least, that's my understanding of it.
  15. Hey guys, I'm working on a project and I've been trying to figure out where to find the voice warning unit system sounds for various fighter and attack aircraft (primairly the F-16). Does anyone know of a good place to find these, the results whenever I Google this usually turn up black box recordings from crashes, which aren't very helpful. I did find one result for the F-16 from f16.net, however because it was a sample from Falcon 4.0, I'd rather avoid legal issues. Thanks,Peter
