Thanks for letting me know. I thought that there may be others like myself who do not visit the hangar forum. If others want to join in the conversation that may be the thread to post in. If they want to discuss it in this forum that might benefit some. In any case if the mods do not like it they can delete it.

Sad to see them go.But look on the bright side... they lasted 10 years, and that's impressive in and of itself. Not many groups or organizations can hold it together for as long as they did.Cheers,
Very true Bryan, and since they are splitting into two mabye there will be some competition and who knows maybe we will see an FMC from one of these groups.

They had a very good run. Get those downloads ASAP. I know I have to get my CRJ's in shape before 12/1.I'm not really sure what which subsection will become the next big freeware group. Will it be the group that loves the community or the group that hates everyone and just likes FS. Frankly, I never go to their site anymore. They are rude, condescending and none of their installation instructions make any sense. It almost seems like they make installation as hard as possible just so they can ridicule people for asking questions in their forums. Don't get me wrong, I hate to see a freeware group go and POSKY has been around for my entire time with FS. Nonetheless, I really think some of their egos outgrew the their aircraft. If I had to bet, I would say that one part of the group is more interested in the future of FS (FSX, VC'S...) than the other.PA gets it. POSKY is living in the past and they will soon become part of FS history.Sad but inevitable.

I was a member of their forum for over 3 years now, a moderatly avid poster. I found out this morning. So now I am gonna try this forum with some hopes that it will have as good of a run as I got from POSKY.

I have to agree, you can't stick to only developing for the last generation of technology and software. When you do that, you destroy your potential. When you destroy your potential, you destroy your future.

It's sad that POSKY is splitting up. Hopefully the new group or groups that emerge will be successful and will continue the fine work of their predecessor. Its not all bad news as it appears that all of POSKY's files will continue to be available.

Years ago, maybe 6 or 7, I started downloading Posky aircraft and read their forums. Time after time I saw people being raked over the coals by certain puffed up individuals beating their chests about their superior knowledge so much I stopped going there. In the end that probably killed them as the public will only take so much ridicule, abuse and neglect.Their decision to stay with the FS past instead of adapting to FSX marginalized them into a fringe group with a nasty reputation for their bad inappropriate junk-yard-dog behaviour. I hope that out of it will emerge some progressive and creative artists who will take their considerable talent into newer flightsim worlds without having a chip on their shoulder.Kind regards,

I couldn't care less about Posky forums as, like others mentioned, that is a hostile environment where I have no interest of being.Of course their aircraft models are superb to look at and since I can get them for free I really appreciate it and express my thanks to all Posky artists.People come, people go, names change, everything runs its course. That's life. I won't cry. I wish all the Posky team success in whatever they do, within the FS world or outside of it.BTW: I'm not going to start any debate but, maybe because English is not my native language, I'd like to admit I do not understand the following statement:

I wonder what it is about and what conclusion it brings.Have a nice flying weekend, everybody!

Nasty forum or not, their 777 is an absolute beauty. Combined with the PSS777's panel, it's the only good 777 we have in FS2004. As for their other aircraft? I guess I don't care too much. I personally do not fly aircraft that don't have a VC, so only their 777 is of good use to me. Sure, there are more with a VC, but all of them either have a vastly inferior VC t the payware planes I own or they are of aircraft that I do not feel the need to fly. I find it sad to see them go, but if it's all like I read in previous replies, they were doomed long ago. I cna only hope that the files remain in the public domain and won't vanish. They had a good run, but to evetything good comes an end.

I was never apart of the forums because once I moved from freeware to payware I never looked back. If there was a halfway decent systems panel and fmc I would use their 777 model in a heartbeat. What is sad about this implosion is not that we will not have access to POSKY's work, but rather, once again we read a story about giant egos getting in the way of trying to work out the differences for the betterment of the whole community. If there were real irreconcilable differences then that is one thing. If it was just hard headed and inflated egos then that is sad. As far as the forums go surely they were not as bad as the toxic flytampa forums.

Hi Rafal, :( It just means that some of the individuals running Project Open Sky drove people away because they often acted like vicious guard dogs that are typically chained in a junk yard where old scraped cars are kept that snarls, barks and bites anyone that dares to come within reach. Their contempt for FSX and those who flew it is quite well known in these circles by those who were ripped apart or recieved teeth marks. As an "FS9er only" you probably would have been treated half descent some of the time, if you were lucky, depending upon how beseechingly and submissively you asked your questions. Rafal, what it boiled down to over the many years is that they were their own worst enemy because of their terrible attitude and the way they treated others. Even doing great work in their airplanes could never overcome such a glaring fault.Kind regards,

Stephen, thanks for you clarification. I certainly agree with what you and most others say about their forum and their attitudes.I was just a bit concerned about the words I quoted, as I am always sensitive (probably oversensitive) to any FS9vsFSX hints. If the Posky guys really showed clear symptoms of FSX hatred in their forum (which I wouldn't know avoiding that place), then it makes their picture even worse.I could never understand people trying to convince (?) others FS9 or FSX is better than the other. It's like car discussions or football fights, completely out of my mind. :(
